So let me get this straight...You're going to fuck over Abyssal so Banshee's sees use?

This is why I don't care about this game anymore.

The balance department is seriously laughable at times.

######And those times are very frequent lately.

The stat lines for the items don't match their purchase intent at all. This is seriously the most retarded change to date.

tbh they're just gonna be completely different items

The completely defensive item is the one that amplifies damage. That one still baffles me.

im ok with it. i can build it on someone like mundo or some other magic damage tank and also amp team damage too

i like it

The problem with that is item 3001 item 3068 tanks top are just going to go back to stat-checking squishies with little-to-no counterplay.

Not really, they kinda gutted Sunfire for PVP purposes.

I used to get this on AP Shyvana anyway ;P

it makes sense if you think about it. i dont like the fact that bveil is changed into an ap item.

but the idea behind swapping the stats of banshees over to abyssal is, that tanks are supposed to pick up the item, dive into the enemy team with their engage and amplify follow up burst from their mages.

for mages in specific the limited range of the aura never made it THAT useful. and for battlemages like vlad, and swain whod get up close, the lack of health on the item made it always a difficult purchase.

WoonStruck1 votes

Lack of health never made it a difficult purchase. It made it a better purchase.

Now, given the choice between Abyssal and SV, they'll take SV 100% of the time. There's not enough room for both for the large majority of champions that would intend to buy either because they share the same stat line, but SV is simply better.

Think of it like this: You can be an AD tank with 2 AP team mates, buy this item, and increase their damage output anyway. Visage is more defensive, for if you need to live. This is more offensive, for when you need to snowball a lead.

Catastrop3 votes

I'm actually okay with it, the aura on Abyssal always felt like it defeated the purpose of buying the item for most ap champions. I want to live, and that means staying at range not getting closer to the enemy. While I will kind of miss the 10% amp on Lissandra, the spell shield + decent enough offensive stats on BVeil is just such a godsend. The Tanks can build Abyssal and they'll amp my damage.

Honestly Abyssal got fucked over in preseason already anyway lol

WoonStruck1 votes

Abyssal deals more damage mid-late game unless you're playing against idiots who buy absolutely no MR...in which case it doesn't matter which version you have.

You can hardly call it 'fucked' for simply not reducing MR anymore while you conveniently ignore the far better scaling, both as an amp and its better synergy with Void Staff, in the large majority of circumstances.

Penns2 votes

Idk, I feel way worse buying it now. If you do 800 damage its 500 with 10% damage amp and over 515 with 20 mr reduction even against 75 MR for example.
Might have something to do with every single top laner, jungler and adc obviously being AD now so the MR just feels like a waste.

HP CDR MR Aura that helps mages 2600 gold

how is that fucked? it's going to be core on any support especially since they mentioned a nerf to locket and redemption

WoonStruck1 votes

2800 gold, btw.

For supports:

Doesn't help you in lane, so good luck getting it after your item 2301 item 3190 item 3107 item 3158

For tanks: Worse than Spirit Visage for the large majority, not enough room for both in most cases.

For mages: Only alternative now is an item that offers 60 AP and aside from that is entirely defensive. Not desirable.

For non-morde battle mages, this is a terrible change as well, and most of them are already struggling.

I guess corki bot lane might have gotten better though?

Abyssal doesn't need changes; its alienating users far more than inviting them.

No one gives a **** about lane, by the way you have sightstone laning phase is over

they're going to be nerfed, knight's vow costs 2300 gold, any tank support will choose abyssal over knight's vow if they have 2 magical damage source in their team

Spirit visage on amumu, nautilus, Skarner (who's a vanguard now), Sion, Singed

Sure thing budy, sure thing

because it's not a mage item anymore, it's an item built by any tanky character to help mages

Spirit visage on amumu, nautilus, Skarner (who's a vanguard now), Sion, Singed Sure thing budy, sure thing Pretending those tanks don't benefit from Redemption or the various support heals.

You honestly don't think they'd still buy Spirit Visage considering the greater HP after all other tank itemization had its HP reduced?

Not to mention how significant Redemption+support heals, if any, are for engages?

Ahristocats2 votes

i repeat, REDEMPTION WILL BE NERFED you think that redemption on tanks (yes they don't benefit from it, almost all of them) is better than giving mages and other magical damage+10% bonus damage

without forgetting that some current adcs also have magical damage, like ezreal or kog'maw, or mordekaiser since you listed him above

Spirit visage is trash if you don't have healing, abyssal scepter on amumu is way superior than spirit visage. Abyssal scepter also synergize with amumu and nautilus kit, singed kit, and skarner since his Q/E/R does magic damage

So yes, since the begining you try to make it sound like abyssal scepter is fucked

truth is that fucked means "i can't built it at any time now" because you refuse to give an item a niche on some champions

just like you say vladimir is trash when he's banned and picked a lot in high elo

I don't think there's any confirmed nerfs for Redemption or Locket.

Ahristocats1 votes

meddler said there will be changes to them as he acknowledged how overwhelming they are in pro scene (and well everywhere)

chipndip11 votes

Those are plans. There's nothing anywhere saying it's actually happening in the foreseeable future.

Big Lincoln2 votes

the balance team is different from the update teams

also abyssal being on the tank or frontliner means that all mages will benefit from it as long as they're doing their job and being in the fight, instead of only short ranged mages and assassins being able to use it. banshee's spell shield is more appealing as well.

Jbels2 votes

The new Abyssal will be even better on Galio than the current one, I'll let it slide

ChaddyFantome1 votes

Abyssal scepter never made much sense conceptually. It more often than not actually got bought on tanks and AP bruisers (or assassins) since they make actual use of the Aura by amplifying their teammates Magic damage when they go in.
