Ludens Echo ended Heimers playability era, because now any AP champ can clear his turrets. He had some significant counters like Ziggs or Syndra, because they are able to kill Heimer turrets fast and easy, but now anyone can do that.

He can place but not always (Ludens AOE is huge). Especially in teamfights when Heimi wants to attack whole team with 3 turrets, not just one.

that means you dont place your turrets until the iniate goes off or place a max of 1 turret before someone iniates

If a champ tried to build Luden's for the sole purpose of countering Heimer, that takes them a good deviation from what they want to build and their over all team presence suffers.
Basically, Luden's doesn't mean every mage counters heimer.

3TWarrior1 votesludens is practically required on mages now...max ap champs such as veigar or Cassiopeia can add up to 300 damage to their already high burst and champs that don't do significantly well still receive an extra 115 bonus damage IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER AP
ziggs gets ludens up in seconds, same with Xerath(though xerath benefits most on his W or E since they're targeted)
lol, nidalee with ludens, highly mobile and max AP assassination though idk how AD nidalee is doing
ludens also has really high AOE

dEAdbUs1 votesSo what? Many champions have good early game, while Ludens totally destroying his mid/late doesnt matter how good Heimer was. Btw now toplaners are tanky and they can easily stay vs Heimer. Early resists will make **anyone ** tanky enough so Heimer won't kill him.
After laning phase there will come midlaner with Ludens, and finish Heimer.
