At what point do you abandon an account?

So my main has 167 ranked wins and sadly 216 losses. My LP gains on this account are a staggering 11 LP gain and 22 LP loss per game.

I've since taken to using that account for ranked practice and am only playing on this one I'm posting with, with intent to only play when I'm feeling good and practiced.

Should I abandon my main until next year? Is there really any saving it at this point? Wouldn't I have to win every single game just to climb one division much less a league? #depression

Note: I've been a Silver player for 6+ years after being bronze for 3+. I've tried watching all the youtube vids of top players and guides, I've done everything except the practice tool to practice cs'ing. I still have about 20% of my games where I hard feed because I don't play safe or play from behind and get stuck in the mind set of "have to carry, no one else can...". But I'm aware of this and do try to mitigate it by warding, sticking with team, focusing on objectives over kills, last hitting, playing from mini map and only looking up to fight or farm, etc.

What else do i have to do to prove myself? To get better? Am I seriously this fucking mentally challenged and inept that I can't get better at a god damn video game?

Very likely you might have to abandon it, mine isn't doing so hot either. The throttled gains with the massive loss penalties suck so bad. Its luck if you can even get farther than D4 tbh.

Games until higher elos are all coin flip no matter what, and the fact that riot puts penalties like this into the game is just stupid.

Games are decided by which team has less trolls/feeders/soft inting players on it.

Not sure what kind of coin you're flipping, but a 43% winrate over almost 400 games is pretty good evidence of the game not being a coin flip.

I have had one account through my times of league and I have had some dark days with it but for me at least that’s when i learned the most.

I would never abandon an account

this makes sense in diamond, but not in lower elos

if you're getting 11 lp a game and 22 a loss, then you're playing against low silver as a gold rank and losing. A new account isnt going to fix that. Just play to improve

If you're diamond 4 getting 11 lp a win and 15 a loss with plat 1 or 2 mmr, that one is a lot more rough and harder to fix.

I've played for years trying to get better and I've never once been to Gold. I've been one win away from Gold and lost... one time. I've never advanced to Silver 1 beyond that one time.

sounds like a mental block, you can defiantly get it since you've hit silver one. The difference between the two ranks is just like 50 mmr. Just keep it up

If you are gaining 11 , losing 22 it means your MMR is MUCH lower than your visible ranking. This is hard to achieve anywhere except iron. In any case that's what's happened. It's not permanent. When you start winning games, the ratio will become closer top 18-18 in no time. No need to abandon the account. You will move up if you start winning, and your LP gains will go back to normal too when your MMR matches the visible ranking.
