Riot, let's talk about CC in the game

There is so much CC in the game at this point, that it's pretty much mandatory to have diminishing returns on Chain CC now. Nothing is more frustrating that not being able to play the game when you are literally CC'd to death for 5+ seconds.

The answer for this problem is simple, the first CC on your character has full effect. The second is half duration. For the 3rd CC it will have to come down to experimentation and balance. The 3rd can either be 1/4 duration or you become immune at that point for 3 seconds. Regardless, once you hit that 2-3 mark, you get CC immunity for 3 seconds. This allows for actually counterplay when you are the carry for your team.

So, for the love of God, please seriously consider taking the game into that direction. Otherwise, shorten all CC across the board, which of course would require every champion with CC to be balanced. So my idea is way less work and impact on the game. As for the argument that some champions have to be CC'd to beat them, that's where those champions need some reworking. CC should NEVER be mandatory to kill a champion.

simple solution and you see it high elo and pro play. they wait til 1 cc spell to wear off then hit another one. so if you are only being hit with one cc at a time the demishing returns wont do anything to fix that

and dont need cc immunity there is soo much mobility in the game you kind have have cc, and if you are playing a champ with high mobility and get hit with cc well then you need to die for not dodging the cc

Not all types of CC can be reduced, actually a lot of them cant beucase they're knockups or knockbacks or whatever

If there is tenacity , item 3111 item 3140 item 3139 to reduce cc , why not have an item or a rune to increase effect of cc?

Riot loves CC so much they give AOE CC stuns to champs like Akali. Along with 14 dashes and smoke screen.

This allows for actually counterplay when you are the carry for your team.

There already is actual counterplay. You can dodge initial cc or have your tanky teammates cover you You can get QSS, Mikaels, tenacity items If most of their CC are roots, you can still attack/cast spells or use Zhonyas to dodge incoming damage

Diminishing returns on CC is probably the worst possible solution. It punishes people for doing the right thing: focusing enemy carry that is caught out of position

Displacements (knockups, knockbacks, hooks, etc) aren't effected, and if you haven't noticed nearly all of the newer champs have displacements instead of flat out stuns, neeko being the only real exception. However, hers has massive damage tied to it, and something they apparently didn't figure out from old Zyra being that long range roots that travel through multiple targets shouldn't last that long

I'd be interested to see a new boots that are weighted or something similar, to give you the same kind of tenacity towards displacements, so you would have to choose which would be more important, in case you have a thresh/yas/cho/zac comp or something obnoxious that is exclusively knockups/displacements

I feel the exact opposite......the amount of games I lose because no one on our team has CC or reliable CC is insane.

Well. To be honest chain CC exists since season 3. It is one of the things that make this game playable. We have so much mobility and so many champs with dashes that you need to stop them with some cc... Imagine a yi that you cannot cc chain him for example. You wont be able to stop him. Similar to damage spells, dash (mobility) spells and shields you need to use strategy and play around the CD of those cc spells. If all 5 champs use their cc on you at once what does that mean? Well it means the rest of your team is free to deal damage and nobody can stop them. Not to say that your team can follow up with cc. Reducing cc in the game will just make this game very frustrating to play and willl make tanks and support essentially even more useless than they are.

  • Regnorak( olaf ult) Olaf
  • Alistar unbreakable will Alistar
  • Gankplnk's remove scurvy Gangplank
  • Mikaels crucible's active item 3222

Tenacity also reduces a lot of cc which if a champ has it make cc almost non existent:

  • unflinching (rune in resolve tree)
  • mercurial boots item 3111
  • legends of tenacity (rune in precision tree)

Furthermore most hard CC are skill shots or conditional stuns which can be easily sidestepped.

if you last for 5 seconds you must be fed as hell and stacking 5 tank items and boots...
