How about you tell me which ones aren't viable instead. With reasons.
[slayer-jinx-catface]
Press the attack could hypothetically work, but in any situation it would be useful Electrocute would be ten times better and Aftershock a hundred times superior. The precision tree only has ONE good rune for Galio - Bloodline: Tenacity.
Lethal tempo? Are you fucking serious? On a mage tank that doesn't build a single basic attack modifier?
Fleet footwork is actually really, really good against poky ranged mages. It can help you sustain both in and outside lane, and it grants you a backloaded movement speed boost that can help you disengage after dashing into an enemy. It also scales extremely well with AP. Unfortunately it grants you ZERO benefit in combat and doesn't help you deal damage in any way - your taunt channel also nullifies it's movement speed boost if you're not using boots of swiftness, which means you'll have to adopt a hit-and-run playstyle rather than a front-line tank playstyle just for picking this one rune.
New conqueror is garbage on Galio. Old Conqueror would actually be better, since you could stack it on minions. Galio can use AD pretty well and the true damage would apply to his spells. New conqueror is something Galio can't really efficiently stack (unless his passive provides 2 stacks?) - conqueror would be fully stack AFTER he has used his combo, which is usually when he either kills his opponent or backs off. Too little, too late - Galio plays more like a burst mage than a sustained damage dealer. Of course, if you go full CDR / tank it's a different matter entirely. But even then Aftershock provides you more in every way and synergizes better with any items you build.
Electrocute is a niche you can only use efficiently in URF and rarely anywhere else. it could hypothetically work against squishy champions you might be able to burst down such as Lux, Ziggs or Katarina. The domination tree has some really good runes for Galio - all the three top row runes are great on him, Ghost poro can be good if you like having more map awareness and Ravenous hunter is excellent on tank galio running sunfire cape + thornmail.
Dark harvest is god awful on him. You'll rarely be able to drop your lane opponent(s) low enough to stack it, and later in the game chances are you're dying first in teamfights.
Picking predator on Galio is also terrible because his ult makes it irrelevant.
Hail of blades Galio is also god awful as you wouldn't really benefit from it unless you buy titanic hydra, which you shouldn't be doing on Galio in the first place.
Arcane coment will have a really hard time actually hitting opponents. You can't proc it often as you have no way to efficiently reset it's cooldown.
Summon aery is generally terrible because you only have one spell you can use on allies, and if you want to deal more damage to enemies your cooldowns are so long even arcane comet is better. The sorcery tree gives you access to wonderful runes for any tank, but chances are you'd be better off with it as a secondary keystone as you only really want two rows here - manaflow band and convergence. The rest are very nearly useless on you, with the exception of gathering storm.
Phase rush? On a champion that slows/self-roots himself when casting all of his spells? Could be useful against champions you REALLY don't want to remain in melee range with, but chances are Aftershock will help you prevent them from pursuing you in the first place.
Grasp of the undying COULD be viable against champions like Cho'gath, but Galio rarely enters melee range if he doesn't think he can bully his lane opponent.. Aftershock is usually what lets him gain lane dominance against squishies as they can't retaliate once he lands his dash on them because he's so tanky, and will remain viable post-laning phase. Grasp doesn't. The resolve tree grants you access to the most valuable runes a tank could ever wish for - EVERY SINGLE rune here is great on Galio. You could pick ANY combination of the minor keystones and they'll be efficient on you, maybe with the exception of revitalize.
Aftershock is a spell you Galio can proc on three of his four spells. It's damage scales with both health and AP, and grants you a bunch of front-loaded resistances that synergize perfectly with your W. While it has a long cooldown, so do you - Galio rarely sticks around for extended skirmishes as he plays more like a burst mage that all-ins and either drops his opponent low on his initial rotation of spells or backs off and plays safe for the rest of the laning phase if he fails to do so.
Guardian is only remotely viable on support Galio and even then Aftershock would be superior in every possible situation since it provides you everything you need as a support tank. The cooldown is far too long to be worth the meagre benefit it provides.
Glacial touch could hypothetically be OK as a support, but chances are the enemy will just turn and kill you rather than run away when you proc it. You do not have the bulk or the damage to be a threat wielding this. Inspiration has some really good runes for any champion but is extremely situational. Magical footwear is always great for someone that likes laning safely until they can ult, either of the three middle row runes are wonderful all-around and Galio can use the three bottom ones efficiently and effectively.
Kleptomancy is like a riskier grasp of the undying. It's easier to proc, but if the enemy laner can all-in you you're going to lose so much health you have to back after trying to proc it.
Spellbook could work, technically. Just like it could technically work on Draven. You CAN use it, but chances are there's another keystone out there that would synergize with your kit a million times better, granting you both increased survivability, utility and damage. Galio don't really have a lot of summoner spells he can utilize effectively.
Did i skip any?
