New item idea for preseason: Doran's Gem

+200 mana +80 HP +Basic attacks and spells deal 5 bonus damage to minions +Damaging an enemy champion with a spell will restore 20 mana over 10 seconds

Price will be 400 gold. This is intended to be a starting item for champions that prioritize early mana over AP, as in Ryze, Cassiopeia etc... or any other mage that wants to play passive during their early levels and sacrifice early kill potential for more mana to play with. At the same time the passive mana regen is to encourage mages to actually trade, as opposed to just using passive mana regen to shove the enemy laner under their turret.

So basically you're giving doran shield mana and an insane passive... I would remove the hp and the 'Basic attacks and spells deal 5 bonus damage to minions' to balance it. But nice try [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Uhh no Doran's shield is the most broken starting item in the game period. It allows any melee champion to play completely passive in their lane and is built on champions and in lanes it was never even intended for. Do you know how much gold 6 HP/5 seconds is actually worth? Or the 20HP everytime you take damage, which costs absolutely nothing?

Preseason completely removes meditation from runes to so maybe you should pay attention to preseason before you come in here and act like you know what you're talking about.

lol. ok. so basically you are saying that the only important thing in doran's shield is its passive... wtf :D yeah instead of being a dick and 'act like you know what you're talking about' take a closer look at its stats and not unique passives AKA +80 HP.
