Miss Fortune support was a thing long before Senna was released

I just find it hilarious that everyone complains about "adc supports" being unhealthy for LOL, and yet Miss Fortune was doing this long before Senna was released and no one bats an eye. When it comes to adc supports though, Senna is the lesser of 2 evils here. At the very least most of Senna's kit has counterplay. You can dodge most of her abilities, and even with her stealth her and her allies are limited as far as movement is concerned. Yes she has stealth but it's not assassin stealth. She can't just move wherever she wants while being stealthed, so it's completely fair.

Now let's talk about Miss Fortune support and why it's unhealthy IMO. Why is it so popular in the first place? There are several reasons for this. Miss fortune can proc spellthief's extremely easily with her 'e', so she gets gold very easily. The ability has a ton of range and all she needs is 1 tick of this ability and voila, you got your spellthief proc. In addition to this she also has decent AP scaling so the AP support item isn't terrible on her. She also synergizes well with lethality, and lethality items are EXTREMELY cheap so she can do decent damage with minimal gold.

I don't think many people are complaining that ADC supports are a problem, I think Senna is the problem. ADC supports are functionally similar to high damage mage supports like Brand and Zyra in that they sacrifice utility, resistances, and/or mobility for a higher emphasis on damage.

Miss Fortune has also never performed as well as Senna is currently performing.

Even with all of those "drawbacks" (which TBH aren't glaring problems, just slight downsides to having great poke, utility, and teamfight potential) she still has an incredibly high playrate and good winrate, both of which are higher than MF support has ever had.

I don't understand how Senna support is less of a problem when she's objectively better than MF support in most if not all regards.

This is what I don't understand about this post:

Miss Fortune support is problematic and unhealthy because of Spellthief's since she can proc it easily, but Senna has just as easy of a time doing so as well. Very few ADCs and supports can contest her range giving her great poke at all points of the match. She also has actual utility in the form of heals, hard CC, and an AOE stealth field which is something MF lacks; and has more global agency with her ultimate.

Both are strong in their own way (certainly not saying MF support isn't good/hasn't historically been good) but you're undervaluing Senna so much.

the biggest thing people complain about with senna is how much healing she gives. not just her ally, but herself. and it deals damage?

soraka it was deemed unhealthy that a support would have a skill that they just cast heal at the cost of mana and thats why they gave her health costs.

meanwhile, senna blows that out the windows and gives herself a heal as well as her ally for mana, a resource that is w/e to her given she rushes unholy grail.
