Ya know what with Sona, I'm gonna keep rolling her mid, no more support Sona for me

I do really well with her in mid and honestly I love it, I have adapted a strange playstyle with her that works well since I played her when she was released in Season 1 However when I support, specially in ranked I like to throw out little "spoilers" as to why I am not getting a sightstone and that I will be upgrading my trinket asap and I suggest my team mates do too, 95% of the time this is met with backlash and if we ever are losing, guess who's fault it is? the sightstoneless support Sona's I take a ton of kills with "support" Sona too, to fuel my resource Generally feel I gimp my team by playing her this way, but I really do not like her full support build and playstyle (Cheerleader Sona would be a good skin, but playing her as one is really boring)

So no more support Sona for me, there are plenty other supports out there that I like to play such as Lulu/Annie and Velkoz and with those I am not met with the responsibility of not buying a Sightstone oh and no more forum complaints on Sona Enjoy

I wholly agree with you on this. I started back in S3 with Sona and always liked her aggressive gameplay patterns, and found that building support especially since her rework, was really a horrible feeling. To me, Sona is now a mid-laner, belongs there and should be balanced for it.

I tend to blow Sonas up in mid lane...or just push her to the tower. She has less wave clear than le blanc

I won't argue that Sona is good against all champions, but i've had fair success against assassins and mages with low sustain and/or mana issues. Horrid matchups for her include Akali, Cho'Gath, Malzahar and Viktor, they all have either shields, DoT, CC or sustain Sona generally can't deal with.

That's why I've taken to running a lot of flat AD and auto-shoving the wave back. As it turns out Sona's ratios are terrible enough pre Lich that having less AP than most people isn't that detrimental and the AD saves you from CSing at 50 AD.

It is a catch 22 for Sona mid.

  1. You push hard and get camped by the jungle because...well you're sona and unless you're power leveling E you'll probably get slaughtered

2)You get pushed to your tower and lose CS and the mid laner roams

Eh but you should play what you're interested in. Those are just my reasons why I wouldn't risk it.

You're playing Sona wrong in that case. You want to balance wave in the central 3rd, which isn't hard since AD gives you a good ability to manipulate the wave especially against wave clear mids.

2)You get pushed to your tower and lose CS and the mid laner roams

It's easy to CS under tower if you have AD.

This is essentially what I'm getting at. AD>AP fixes a lot of problems. It's still not good but that's basically because Sona's not good.

sightstone is mandatory on support

honestly to go support and not buy sightstone is pretty much gamethrowing if you're silver+

I won a bunch of games without needing it in plat5, it's just down to how your team receives the news I don't play ranked too much anymore though, too many angry people (not just the subject of sightstone either)

Except that's essentially what Rito wants. They don't want Sona to be a viable champion and they've even hinted at just removing her from the game, eventually.

Rito is to blame, not the players. We have literally made THOUSANDS of attempts to communicate with Rito, but unfortunately their business model bans any form of respecting the players or listening to our experiences and complaints. The very few responses we've gotten, particularly from Fearless, Jag and Meddler have been blatantly insulting and highly condescending, attempting to feed us selective disinformation and intentionally misleading propaganda.

No way would they remove her from the game after giving her one of the best, most expensive, skins in the game.

I can use that logic too.

"No way would they concurrently nerf her 25+ times right before giving her an ultimate skin."

Yet that's EXACTLY what they did. Rito doesn't give a shit about logic. They do what they want and they don't care how it affects the game.

Its called a compensation. They love doing those.

Indeed. Don't we know that all too well...

This depends on how the laning phase is going. There are many times where picking up an early Sheen is better than picking up an early Sightstone... and if you hit level 7 or 8 before having the gold for Sightstone... the trinket upgrade at level 9 is better all around as it refreshes wards continuously while Sightstone is gimped at 4. The only real downside is having nobody with a sweeper, but denying vision seems a smaller advantage than having vision in general.

I often make the mistake of buying Sightstone with a support in a lane that is pushed in constantly. If you can't do anything but hug tower, often a single ward is all you can safely place anyways.

I little tip for guys on her waveclear flaws You are a massive lane bully, use that to prevent your enemy from farming, some situations it's difficult to do, but if you zone them away, they can't back you into your tower

Dem random downvotes, Have I by anychance got a hater?

Join the club. Of course, the reason why I get haters is because boards hate my guts. You? IDK.

LankPants2 votes

She's so gimped as a support that trying to run it is just a bad idea. At least in mid she can get the AP her kit needs to sort of function.

Athenes Lulu2 votes

I'm supporting this because it sucks to be the only one getting kicked out of botlane.

o shit did I just make another pun

When you put it into math you see that a ward costs 75 gold. You can buy 3 wards for 225. You might need to do this about 2-3 times before getting level nine where you purchase the upgrade for 250. Now if your ADC is smart he might assist you in the warding making you have to only buy the 3 wards once or twice. 250 + 225(2) equals 475 and 250 + 225 equals 925 gold. 475 - 925 That you could be spending on the items that Sona so desperately needs to function.... yeah...shes weak as fuck

I completely quit playing sona due to the 4.13 changes to her completely crippling my preferred low-AP, Aura support playstyle.

I may have to try this, just to try playing her again. I miss her.
