You know, I think most of us at some point have called Riot out for ''favoritism''
Yet here we are, Gragas, Lee Sin and Elise being nerfed on Worlds Patch.
I'd lie if I said I wasn't surprised...

Not to be a downer, but I have this sinking feeling that these nerfs will result in riot saying: "after their nerfs in patch 7.15 we noticed lee sin, gragss and elise were not performing as well as they could" followed by massively unwarranted buffs that far outstretch the nerfs.
Gragas and Elise nerfs?
Cant even explain how happy i am rn
T H R E E A D
then again it did take several years for lee sin to finally be nerfed
This isn't what the worlds will be played on but this was said in the current pbe "As previously mentioned 7.15 is the patch most of the Worlds Qualifying games will be played on. " So I'm sure that really means that the patch coming up is what is going to be used for the remainder of Summer and the play-offs basically.
Like for example, if it really is 5 weeks into summer and it takes 2 weeks for each patch to come through, then we'll get patch 7.15 in live by their week 7 but since they wait 2 weeks until playing on the lastest patch, then by the end of week 9 is when they would use it in pro play. So they'll probably use 7.13 for 2 more weeks, and then use 7.14 for the week 7-9 and then use patch 7.15 for the play offs.
i asked for this lee nerf since 3 years
glad his base ad is finally tuned down, dude clearing is insane af with 61 ad+passive
[slayer-jinx-unamused] They're to shy with gragas... Just break his legs already. He's same like Galio top. I really hate this king of tank.
They f*cking buff this retard champ
and udyr+nasus buffed :0
new meta is coming boys
Is it already world's patch though? Worlds not for another 3??? months. Not sure why people keep saying its final patch before worlds. It might be.... I would just be extremely surprised if that's true.
They will revert it all the following patch adding "1 free kill with x2 gold per three auto attacks" to each of their passives to make them "shine" again.
I suppose they're nerfs in the technical sense, but that's the only sense in which they're nerfs.
Theory 1: They're becoming aware that we've noticed the favoritism towards their golden children, assuming the Lee Sin nerf goes through. Their aim is to try to throw us off.
It would be too big of a shock to see them make their precious #1 golden child less desirable as a pick among the pros, so I wouldn't count on it happening. Still, if by some small chance it does happen (which will only be a temporary nerf, mind you), it would mean they are willing to take the hit in benching one of their flashiest play-makers just to try to show us that they care about their current player base.
"See, guys? W-We listen to your concerns! Really!"
Theory 2: As those three champions excel at getting to the backline, it's a good chance they want their other set of golden children, the ranged AD right-clickers, to shine more by eliminating some of their biggest threats/counters.
To be fair, those 3 are serious problems and have been for awhile. They
should
definitely
be
riots
top
priority
right
now!
3.54 AD from Elise won't be noticable at all, maybe this will slightly tone down her early clear by a few seconds but that's not stopping her much. Me of all people am willing to admit riot needs to hit elise a little harder than that, this is just an unnecessary love tap just to say "we did something".
Lee on the other hand, I'm not sure. Its lee and the decrease is by 3.176 but it does have to be remembered all his abilities also do less clearing with less AD (unlike elise). I can see this small change being good enough for now.
Grag's nerf is good. Kinda wish they hit his early more but makes sense why they'd tweak his teamfighting for LCS.
Worlds Patch? Didn't we just barely get past MSI?
Spring Split took 10 weeks, the Summer Split is only 5 weeks in. This won't be the Worlds Patch, so there's a very real possibility that these changes will result in "they're under performing now, we need to buff them now" right before Worlds.
This is pretty much the second to last patch before world's.
Huh, thought Graggy would be hit harder. Pleasant surprise still gonna drink scrubs under the table with AP Grag.
Got a bit exited with that information - when i have seen the 'nerfs', nothing but little love taps. It might affect the first clears of elise and lee a bit, but not much, and it won't really do anything beyond that.
I'm honestly pretty shocked that they made such excellent changes for tanky melee champions and chogath/singed in particular.
That's because Riot only have favoritism for one champion: Lux. Like no joke. It's not very large favoritism, but it exists.
You have to understand, the balance team has no favoritism. They have no clue what they're doing. Balance is just a slightly random lottery.
