Why did Renekton have to bite the dust?

He was the King of the top lane for an entire season. Buffed even his late game R and slight nerf to early R.

Then reworked him to be more combat oriented. Making him more dangerous in teamfights rather than in lane and splitpush

Its rather a slight change in playstyle

Fun fact: according to champion.gg he is literally the most balanced top laner there is. Hes in the middle in ranks for best of everything, and has a 50% win rate at plat+elo. with a 8% pick rate. thats very solid.

he is viable. Just cannot be played like he used to. (may even be played at worlds with the mao nerfs and perma ban of GP and fiora)

He was pretty solid until the last few patches. I guess he the Juggernauts and Fiora are giving him issues.

He's too mobile to be a juggarnaut, according to Riot's definition. And juggarnauts are 'in' right now, apparently.

He should not be the only dominant topper

I faced Renek several times and he's actually still pretty strong in lane
