I Think I Finally Figured Out How To Climb In My Ranked Games
Im Silver IV right now (I was silver 3 before). Over the past week of playing ranked I probably dropped around 132 lp and have climbed my way back up to silver 4 72 lp. This was due to a huge losing streak. Over the course of me losing games however I learned how to win ranked games and have found rather consistent success and have been climbing back up. Of course sometimes you get terrible teammates and the matchmaking is screwed up but what I realize is to win a ranked game, It's not just a matter of your skill at your champ or your lane, what matters is that you know how to win.
While I was and am good at my champion and my lane, I wasn't doing anything that really influenced my team and helped my team win as much as I could have. Simple things such a pushing the lanes out before a team fight and prioritizing towers can make a huge difference in the long run because it forces enemies to back or you split pushing or the minions take the tower. When you have an early lead it is vital that you extend that lead as far as possible before late game where everybody is full build and even. Vision is also extremely important because it allows you to take objectives, gank and make well planned out plays with map knowledge. If you push your waves out, focus towers and objectives more and have vision in your jungle you should win more of your ranked games. Good shot calling with pings and other suggestions help a lot too because often teams lack guidance on what they should actually do to win. Actually attacking the dragon or baron to start it will get your team to attack it as well rather then just standing around pinging it.
I know these are some simple obvious things but these skills really make a difference when you apply them to your matches. I just thought I'd share this because it will help other people like me who need this and I finally understand why I was losing so much.
