Garen's Villain Gimmick

Who thought this was a good idea?

Seems plain stupid to require an opposing team to manage their kills so their squishies don't get tagged. Really don't see what this aspect of his ult adds to game, other than an annoying side-effect you may or may not have to deal with.

Gimmick is the word. Even the skarner spots. Just weird and distracting.

It shouldn't exist. Like a ton of other 5.16 stuff, Garen will likely be nerfed.

That is the point of the mechanic. Previously, Garen was useless other than shutting down a Riven or a Renekton. Now, he's a carry killer with that ultimate passive. He is useful now. If they took it away, he'd become just another generic bruiser, mainly because with his W change, he doesn't have as much tank potential late game.

Ok, but then look how you have to try and interact with it.

You actually have an incentive to NOT take the kill because it will make you more prone to Garen's damage after. That's just absurd.

It's not a something that's black and white. When you take a kill you get fed. You get stronger. If Garen is in the game then you receive strong amounts of damage from him.

I think it's not that bad to be honest. Squishies don't build that many resists anyway, so it'd be a real problem if a tank was tagged instead (suffers more from the true damage).

Maybe the way they did it wasn't the best, but I really like the "Vigilante" passive -- but maybe on an assassin instead of someone who's supposed to be immobile.
