Banning items just like banning champions

With how much abuse some items get why can't we as a team also ban one item each(total of 2 items banned) before choosing champions. Which the lobby could follow this order.

  1. Ban Items
  2. Ban Champions
  3. Choose Champions

It could lead to more interesting strategies when say Zhonya's and Stormrazor gets banned. Which could open up Zed mid but during the champ ban phase there could be a zed ban.

Dunno how well this would work but this could help alleviate some problems where people want items completely removed because of how warped the meta is around that particular item.

The banning phase will take forever. and more chances of giving birth to new trolls.

Bans Luden's Every mage panics

It would be cool and all just isn't practical. It would take forever and like ban Trinity Force and there goes many champion that become unplayable. If certain items weren't so critical for champions then I could see it, but no anytime soon.

I disagree on this. I mean:

  • Ban Void Staff and IE, tank meta returns.
  • Ban Duskblade and Youmoos, Assassins will be unfairly too weak and unviable.
  • Ban Luden's and Seraph's and mages will be unfairly too weak and unviable.
  • The list goes on. You get the idea.

2 total bans may be small but can be enough to make a class completely unviable.

This will probably be like, solve 1 problem, 2 problems appear. This is unhealthy to the game if you ask me... I'm sorry but I think this is a terrible idea.
