@Meddler Unnecessary Brand Changes Over Heim and Others?

What was the reasoning to update a champion that A) the community did not want changed and B) that did not need more damage and abilities to nuke players down. Brand is a champion that was functioning perfectly fine before this unnecessary change to his passive that detonates enemies with fire. Again, like I said when you announced you were working on Vel and Brand, WHY DID YOU SPEND ALL THIS TIME ON A CHAMPION THAT DID NOT NEED MORE DAMAGE TO HIS KIT. This kind of BS is what the community hates . . . . when you don't listen to us and then try to shove something down our throats when we know is is unnecessary. I and many others seriously question your ability to make SENSIBLE decisions when it comes to updating and balancing a champion.

Malz is probably the most broken champion in this update and you think raising his mana costs is going to fix him. You think Brand is perfectly fine and the fact that he is able to do even more damage with hardly anything in his kit to compensate for it, is acceptable. Complete idiocy. I am not trying to be mean to you but what was your reason for updating this champion over Heim? His turrets get one shot by everyone early and late game. His W and Q are easily dodgable. Heim falls off hard late game. Isn't Heim considered a immobile mage? He has nothing in his kit that says he isn't a immobile champion. You decided to update Brand over Heim for a ridiculous reason. Get your fricken priorities straight before you make ridiculous commitments.

Imbecile update and balance team.

/end rant.

To be honest I didn't understand Brand change. If you can put aside the fact I frequently complain about Dyn Q and Riot balancing team, you'll REALLY understand that this concern is justified.

Heimerdinger is unique, leave him as is. Yes, not going to be relevant all that much, but i say leave him as is.

I mean just increasing the passive healing on his turrets is something. If you play Heim right now in any game, no mater what you build or how you play, his turrets die in one hit and it takes a very long time to spawn them again. I love his kit and being able to tinker around with three different types of ULTS. The problem is that his fricken passive is the most useless thing in this game if it is not doing it's job. Give him a better passive or increase the healing he does on turrets.

The time they spent on Brand could have been spent on Heim to give him something MINOR. There is nothing wrong with his kit . . . just the fact that his kit feels clunky and his turrets continue to die hard. I mean even building a Banner of Command doesn't help that much.

Yes, his passive is quite useless.

And could get a new one.

Heimer's late game really does need to be addressed. Heimer CAN do well early game, but if he gets even just a little behind it's really sad. I think he has THE worst late game since his turrets die immediately late game and he is left with just 2 other long cooldown abilities.

Oh im well aware of Heim's issues.

He is so freaking easily hard countered, even when counters some champs hard, doesnt really "snowball", and anyone smart can make him become useless.

But he doesnt need a real rework. He is, unique. He does need some work, but i dont think anything increadibly detailed.

I agree that he doesn't need a whole rework, but some TLC would go a long way for him.

Quality of life things and a change to passive would help.

He should zone out, as a control mage does; snipe carries R+W, and the ult that combos with other stuff.

His E could change, to something more reliable.

The problem is how incredibly oppressive to lane against he is if you don't counter him. Any kind of buff would have to not change his early game at all in order for him to remain remotely fair.

Heim isnt oppressive, just annoying.

Illaoi is more oppressive, yet she got fixes and stuff. Did it make things worse, no, just less annoying.

Zed, even when he does not counter you, you need to change the way you play against him.

Heim, not really. You still do as you do, you survive lane phase, even when behind, you scale up, and better than Heim.

There isn't anything really wrong with Heimer aside from his passive but to be honest it does come in handy as a support and he is advertised as Mage/Support. Meddler already said he wasn't going to touch him. I main him and feel he's in a pretty good spot and yea his turrets do tend to be weak at times but he's very versatile. He doesn't fall off late game, on the contrary he's quite effective in zoning, disengaging and engaging, you can also solo objectives if you need to. However he's also very team oriented the thing that really keeps him down is lack of communication between a team since you don't know which Ult he'll throw or if your team will read what you're going to do.

I disagree about falling off late game, I don't think there is another champ who falls off late game as hard as Heimer. compare his final kit to other mages and they just blow him away. all his damage is tied up into his turrets, and they die late game so fast. His damage is DoT and I agree it is difficult to play with randoms who don't know how to capitalize on his strengths. I don't know how many games were thrown because my team was durdling with chasing down kills and not taking objectives. Compare Heimer to Azir who has untargetable "turrets" more mobility and more damage.

The brand comments are alright, but Heimer already has a distinct identity, and while yes, his turrets maybe be easily toppled by some ranged champions, he's very oppressive towards many melee champions, that's his niche. The mage rework was to visit and give each of these mages some more specific identities, while brand basically just got another AoE DoT tacked onto him, there's really no reason to change Heimer.
