Why is there so little love/equivalency for AP items from Riot?

I've noticed this almost every time some patch news drops for items. Why is there no equivalency? Where is the Ap item that allows mages or ap assasins to one shot a ward or an Ap resurrect item or an ap item that grants MS without me having to gather charges for spells to use? I really hope with this new season we'll get some ap items that are equivalent the lethality items Riot has been rolling out for AD champs. It's almost as if Riot doesn't want people to play mages anymore.

Mages are OP enough already, especially in a certain lane..

Early-game flat pen, like the item 3020 item 3916 that people have been crying about constantly, and will probably be nerfed?

There is no equivalency by design, different classes need different things. Mages get hourglass to wait out cooldowns or protect themselves while allies reposition/peel, but that would not translate well to ADCs or AD assassins. Likewise, a QSS for mages would be either useless in most cases due to squishiness, or just a mandatory game-breaker against champs like Lux.

You do know that Zhonya's is one of the most effective items in the game, right?

Where's the AD item that gives +40 AD? Where's the AD item that gives infinite stopwatches (on cooldown) with a good build path? Where's the AD item that gives +70 AD and 40% armor pen? Some items are meant for AD, some items are meant for AP. That's just how it is.

AP items for mages are fine. On the other hand, we still lack AP bruiser items, and Void Staff is still a must-have for every magic damage dealer.

The only class of items that feels lacking to me is mr because some champs only get any real benefit from 1 mr item out of the lot. That's by design though I think.
