If true, which one takes precedence? @riot

Should solo queue be sacrificed for potentially more viewable competitive games? I'm of the opinion that it really shouldn't be, and I also contest the idea proposed by scarra that seasons 7 saw some of the bestm etas for competitive play. My memory of worlds was nothing but fucking kog maw janna lulu twitch tristana ardent censer circle jerk the adc until he blows up the enemy team or gets blown up himself.

I think season 7 was just a complete shit show both competitively and solo queue, but I'll give scarra the benefit of the doubt so that this philosophical gameplay question can be posed.

So I must ask again, which one takes precedence?

As for your question, the esports scene. Riot with league of legends will become the next blizzard and starcraft 2 in a relatively short time (2 years tops). A game that's difficult to enjoy for the average joe (over 90% of the playerbase) so that esports can succeed in a way.

But there is a flaw here, and that is that the average joe, the casual player. THEY ARE THE ONES FUELING THE ESPORTS SCENE! If riot neglects them and they leave, their esports scene dies with them and it will start a chain reaction of

players lost> queue times up>viewers lost>appeal lost>money lost. Rinse and repeat. Blizzard did this with sc2, i loved that game but they completely neglected the most important player, the individual who watches pro matches for the sake of it, not because they're hardcore. There're far more of them then there are of the try hard lol is life player, just see the population percentage of bronze through plat.

If they go, so does this game
