Looks like I'm on my loss streak now.

The great win streak has ended. Time for the artistic team mates (autistic said nicely.)

See thats different. Gambling doesn't have a shitty match maker, and I can also see the win loss streaks visually by looking at my match history.

Matchmaking may be shitty, but if it is, it is equally shitty to everyone. Your standing compared to everyone else in the system is just as dependent on your own skill as their standing is on theirs.

Your chances of winning may fluctuate, but they are not predicated by the system - by which I mean that the system doesn't decide when you should win or lose. Instead that comes from all of the factors that come together in a match, including each player's skill levels, tilt levels, and ability to focus and cooperate at that time.

And the gambler's fallacy is the fallacy of expecting streaks to come out of a system. Do you honestly think that the machines in casinos have any less complicated of a system? They're probably even more complicated than the matchmaking system in league.

The main factors in your wins/losses are still the players, not the system.

Also, I'm noticing that people who tend to take a win streak getting broke into a large loss streak are people who have their ego too wrapped up in their winning. They tend to do things like insult their teammates, like calling them autistic for instance. They'll go about their day seeing asshole after asshole without every thinking that maybe they're the ass and people are just picking up on that and no one treats assholes well. They bring down their own game, but refuse to look inward.

I have noticed a similar trend. I think it is that they tilt, and because they lack the humility needed to look inwards - they spiral out of control and make things worse as they play game after game.

If I were playing ranked I would stop playing after a loss, and come back the next day. That would ensure that I would tilt less and not lose the following game due to hurt pride after the previous game.

Ok so I just op.gg all the players in the game from my last loss.

3 of my team mates have 45% win rates in ranked. I have a 50% right on the money, which is not great by any means.

The lowest win rate on the enemy team was 51% the highest was 57%.

How is that balanced match making my friend.

O0o0o0o0o0o0 Win Rates :O Spooky! /sarcasm

People's MMR varies depending on if they have win-streaks or win-losses. Streaks cause MMR to jump faster, resulting in higher win-rate players who have loss-streaks getting matched against lower win-rate players who have win-streaks.

It's still not like the system is trying to make you lose. It genuinely thinks that you are on even footing that game. For whatever reason.

Like I said the system may be broken, but it's not actively trying to make you win or lose a match. It's just trying to match you in a game that it thinks will be fair. Even if it's dead wrong about what will be fair.

Going on a win streak causes your MMR to jump higher faster, sometimes overshooting higher than you deserve (a byproduct of trying to not let high rank players stay in low rank games for a lot of matches and ruin those matches for everyone else), thus resulting in you getting a match or several where it accidentally gave you worse chances. Once it corrects again then you will be at your current skill level, which is likely slightly lower MMR than what your current MMR is at the height of a win-streak.

Ok sure but why1 votes

Don't many, many people notice they get win streaks and loss streaks without much alteration between the two? I mean, I've noticed it myself. I'll gring my ass up from S4 to S1, only to get a bunch of trolls and fall back to S3 right away, and then up, and down, and up, and down.

It may be that the system over-corrects and winds up accidentally raising and lowering your MMR too much towards the end of streaks, resulting in large fluctuations.

I've been meaning to write a post about this, going over the math behind win and loss streaks and how MMR seems to be affected by them. Maybe this is the week, I'll see if I can fit it into my schedule.

The way the system works now is unfair imo. Just because someone is doing well doesn’t mean it should adjust their team mates.

I feel your pain, I don't think it is fair either. But I'm not entirely convinced that it specifically stacks your teammates against you.
