@Riot Finally faced the new LeBlanc and so far pretty good :)

Disclaimer: I ain't salty nor complaining that she's OP. I actually really enjoyed vsing the new LB for the most part until wukong got involved XD

First we'll start with the good stuff; WAY WAY WAY WAY WAAAAAAY less irritating to deal with due to a more even playing field when it comes to trading blows. The most blatant contributor to this is her W delay which gave me more than however fken fast old LB could smash W twice, which in most cases was ample time to throw out a W+E. This delay also prevented the classic QWW combo from being at all oppressive. One W+E at her origin (which was previously impossible due to the excessive old q+w dmg). The new E indicator was extremely helpful, it doesn't punish the LB for being good and gives no excuse for a bad player to fail a flash. Unfortunately I didn't get to die to the new Leblanc ult but I thoroughly enjoyed the confusion and chaos it unleashed when she tried to dive me.

There is one issue however and that is her obscene wave clear. Pre 6 she insta cleared minions waves with the Q spread. Based on the patch notes this seems intended "Shatter Orb bounces deal 120% damage to minions". However considering the very champ I was playen, vel koz has been nerfed specifically because of his previous "spam W to insta clear" play style. I felt this was an extremely hypocritical direction to go in considering her one downside used to be her early game wave clear, which is now non existent.

Overall though I'm quite pleased as her opponent and unlike the old leblanc, which I am sooo happy has now died in a hole. I'm actually looking forward to the next game in which I can vs a LeBlanc mid.

Nice job Riot, just fix that waveclear

yeah, it's fun playing against handicapped assassins

And vsing someone who can chunk you to half hp in less than a second with "next to"* zero counterplay at lvl 4 is fun as well?

"zero counterplay"

I think you need to learn what counterplay means.

TheSingularity4 votes

How do you counter pre change LB QW combo?

Not being in range is not a tolerable answer. May as well leave lane in that case

MR? Dodging W?

TheSingularity4 votes

dodging W as velkoz? that's neva gonna happen without flash. Even then she has old ULT w. Voidstaff>banshees

at least they had a purpose then, why the hell would i play an assassin when i can just play anything else? i had a Kat that was UNABLE to kill me as a squishy bard when i had 25% of my HP and she used everything! sorry but other than rengar and khazix and maybe talon every single assassin is now just a complete joke that are unable to do anything unless they get stupidly far ahead but whatever enjoy playing against the handicapped assassins that are unable to kill anything at all

My my aren't you a sad lil guy. Grab a cookie, maybe some warm milk and it'll all be okay [slayer-jinx-catface]

And dude, she could kill me just fine 3/1. She wasn't stupidly fed nor stupidly farmed.

my aren't you a little salty cuz i just told you the truth of them? tell me why should i play an assassin that is unable to assassinate anything unless they get stupidly far ahead? i might as well just pick a control/burst mage at that point and provide my team utility or actual killing potential instead of hoping that i get fed.

Babe, I don't get salty. I passed the salt age years ago. Why should you play them? For the same reason I play tanks in a meta filled with vaynes, kogs, yi's and irelia's (sated devoure meta). Because one enjoys playing or perhaps loves playing certain champs and sticks by them through thick and thin.

I mean, if you compare League's assassins to assassins in reality, I'd say they are more similar now than they were before the assassin updates.

In reality, assassins aren't just going to go about an assassination attempt on a whim. There's more to it. There's the knowledge phase. They have to know their enemy first. They have to learn their name(s), their history (sometimes some and sometimes all), their daily schedules, any relative people whom they can use against their intended target, etc.

Then there's the planning phase. They have to plan out their method of attack. They have to consider any obstacle that may get in the way of their mission. They have to plan out when the mission will go down. They have to plan their mission according to their intended target's schedule.

And then there's the execution. With all the knowledge they now have, and planning they did, they can now execute the mission. Usually, this means to either wait for their target to be isolated or influence the isolation. (Kha'Zix, anyone?) Once the target is finally isolated, the assassin can go in and delete said target.

Now, that was just a basic situation. That wasn't taking into account any possible witness that may appear out of nowhere, any situations that may change their target's location or activity, anyone finding out about the assassination attempt beforehand, etc.

The way I see it, the assassin update made the role more true to the idea of an Assassin in reality.

OMG could it be, we have a constructive comment here? [zombie-nunu-hearts]

Personally I never looked at it from that perspective, only the gameplay aspects. Really like your take, cudos to u brew [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

early on i like the lb and that ult clone is really fun but when i cant burst a squishy adc because my burst is delayed and the adc can aa me to death and get life steal they needed to stay alive theres something wrong there

TheSingularity1 votes

Yeah... Perhaps they could shift her waveclear dmg elsewhere for more "pop". Or in our opinion, is her waveclear not much of an issue?

zaire901 votes

yeah her wave clear isnt an issue its mainly the damge she takes for going in doesnt justify the burst she deals but like i said its only late game where i noticed this problem occurs other than that shes alright

EcchiOtakuTM1 votes

Waveclear-wise unlike pushers or most mages she's in danger for attempting her waveclear AND uses multiple skills, so it really isn't comparable.
