Poor Fiddlesticks... How much longer he will be left on that state?

Fiddlesticks received some nerfs during last year, that weakened his power and viability in lanes. First, they nerfed his fear, making it last for less seconds and become a "flee" instead, this (thogether with the nerfs to Spellthief's Edge) made Fiddlesticks weaker as a support, and thus, people stopped using him on that lane.

The above nerf also made Fiddlesticks weaker on mid lane, where he was previously viable, but the nail on the coffin was the nerfs that were to be introduced later. His silence not only prioritize enemies that have not yet been hit, but it also only silences on the first hit. This made his harass very weak and killed his viability as a mid laner, he already wasn't the best of mid laners, but now there is no reason to use him when there is Vladimir, which has the same level of sustain as Fiddlesticks, but is much more suitable for laning, and the only advantage that Fiddlesticks has over Vlad is CC.

The last place in which Fiddlesticks could still possibly be viable was the jungle, although Fiddlesticks has problems with early game champions that could invade his jungle, also Fiddlesticks has slow jungle clear, and the Magus enchantment was lacking in mana regeneration or restoration. However, ever since Riot replaced Magus with Runeglaive, this has hurt Fiddlesticks a lot, he is now a very weak jungler too, as Runeglaive is a very innefective enchantment for him and there is no other enchantment that is good for Fiddlesticks.

Now the only place where on my opinion Fiddlesticks is still possibly viable is a support, but even then, why should I pick Fiddlesticks, when I can pick Lulu, who also has harass and a reliable CC, but has much more utility? The only possible reason to pick Fiddlesticks over Lulu, is if the rest of your team is full AD and you need a support who can sacrifice some of its utility items to build AP and help its team in doing magic damage, but supports shouldn't be usually building for damage.

Fiddlesticks is now very weak and is outclassed by so many champions. He still has an amazing late game, he is very strong at late, with fantastic teamfighting presence, strong AoE damage, and reliable CC. The problem is that he now has an extremely hard time reaching said late game. And even then I can pick other champions that have a good late game but can do some of the same things that Fiddlesticks can do.

Mage that can do massive AoE damage late game? Karthus, Vladimir, Ezreal, Anivia, Vel'Koz, Ziggs, Kennen.

Mage that has reliable sustain? Vladimir, Swain, Morgana, Ahri, Nidalee.

Mage that has reliable, targeted CC? Annie, Ryze, Twisted Fate, Lissandra, Malzahar.

I hope that Riot is planning some sort of buffs, or even a rework for Fiddlesticks, as of now he has a lot of problems, I know that he isn't an easy problem to address, but still, I want to play one of my old favorite champion again.

Edit: His problems are not only gameplay and balance-wise, lore-wise he also has some problems, for example, now that there are no "League of Legends" (the League itself) anymore, from which place Fiddlesticks has came? This has no explanation. Also, he doesn't make any sense as a Zaun champion.

Also, his voice over is terrible. Tahm Kench has much more attacking quotes than Fiddlesticks has quotes on his entire VO.

Yeah it's depressing as a die hard Fiddlesticks fan to have to jungle and one of the favorites to use that no one expected was Fiddle. Now his playability through the jungle is painful at best when you're not getting countered and when you are countered you could have locked in a Season 2 Evelynn and be a ton more effective. I hope they buff him soon so we can go back to suprise crowstorming everyone in style.

I use him as a support because I have a hard time with him at the jungle, unless I can reach the late game, but this is extremely difficult to currently do.

However I only do that at normals for fun, at the ranked I have the best chances of winning by playing Lulu instead, which can do the same thing as Fiddlesticks, but hs a lot more utility.

Yeah I have a ton of games played on Lulu as well just for the protection of my carry. I still like coming out of odd angles wih a crowstorm. It's so satisfying lol

With how strong he was during the preseason, it's apparent that he's a really tough champion to balance.

Given what you said is true, I hope riot changed from magus with Fiddlesticks in mind, to either change his kit to be better for laning without becoming an oppressive jungler, or to be a unique jungler with an overtuned kit that is balanced by his lack of a suitable jungle item.

For now, if you take Fiddlesticks jungle and know your enemy will counter jungle you, can you bait the counter jungle and have laners prepared to come get free kills?

I really do hope fiddles gets something good sooner or later, right now you can tell hes very old, so little lines, so little in his kit compared to most of the new champions, and he is need of a VU or something, so many of the other champions look so smooth whail he looks rough and that (not his Dark candy, party, and risen skins tho), so yeah I hope for a re-work, or buff him or something, hes like twitch now, still strong, but not not all the time, they cant get back up if they fall and there's a lot of other champions you can pick over them, but that's just me.

I would also like to know why some, or better yet most people hate him, he may be a pain, but all you have to do is ward and CC him, and I mean knock him aside and stuff, or better yet, MOVE away form him, hes not that hard to get around him unlike other champions, but yeah whats your beef with him? maybe you just don't know how to fight him... or ward right.

I agree, there really isn't any reason to take Fidd over other champions in any role. He can't lane because his waveclear is abysmal, there are only a handful of champions he can actually duel anymore, and he dies pretty much instantly if focused at all.

Here are some changes he could use:

His Q should be an AoE fear in a cone. This would allow him to CC gankers so he can get away while laning and disrupt teamfights later in the game.

His W is fine, no changes needed.

His E should do bonus damage to minions and monsters so that he can actually clear waves. Also, the nerf were he can only silence someone once needs to be reverted.

His ult is ok, but it would be nice if the range of his teleport was increased so he could get over all walls in the game.

Only thing I really disagree with is "which has the same level of sustain as Fiddlesticks". No, nobody has the same level of sustain as fiddlesticks. Bro can be level 9 and just have magus and still solo dragon coming out of it will full health

Until he gets his rework. Fiddle is just impossible to balance. He's pretty much guaranteed to win a 1v1 trade due to his passive, his point and click fear, and his W. Oh his freaking W. Honestly, the only thing in his kit that's even somewhat balanced is his ultimate, and that's because it has a four year cast time.

Plus, I find him incredibly dull and clunky to play. I'm sure this is going to get buried by Fiddle "mains" and boards circlejerkers, but the fact of the matter is that in his current state he's unbalanceable. I think that his E and Q could be merged into one ability, and reintroduce the bounceback to the original champion to fear after silencing. His W needs some sort of window of counterplay to it outside of hard CC and walking away. If they can do that, give him a new E and make his passive less clunky, Fiddle can probably be allowed to be good again.

CC literally destroys fiddlesticks :/ As soon as you cc his W, he has nothing.

Unfortunately, it's the same trap as "just stun Master Yi" or "Just silence Riven." While that obviously does work, it forces you to counterpick rather than have any meaningful window of counterplay. Add to the fact that point and click CCs, especially hard CC, is going the way of the dodo, and you've got a problematic champion to balance.

Same goes for Annie, Tryndamere, and plenty of other champions I'm probably forgetting. They don't have windows of counterplay. Annie's stun can stay on forever, which effectively means she can zone you until forever, and Tryndamere can literally just sit top lane all game and splitpush to death, even if he gets babysat.

Except Master Yi is untargetable like 80% of the time, and Riven usually kills you before you even get the chance to cc her (or immediately after it wears off).

Fiddle stands in one spot. You really don't need point and click CC for him : / ... And with all the mobility out there these days, even walking away isn't all that difficult for a large number of the champs now.
