Bone plating is a rune I've seen on every mid laner I've been aganst be it Yasuo, Talon, Zed, Katarina, etc. AND IT WORKS EVERY TIME.
A rune in the tree that is meant for tanks should certainly not work for assassins specifically as well as it does.
It's fucking insane.
C9 Squeeky 2 votesIt's not only meant for tanks, it's for a little durability which is also why they split Resolve path bonuses and why you can even have a secondary path in the first place. It even got nerfed. Poke it off & wait 3s. Those are all melee and squishy, you should be able to poke them or even push them in. Sounds like their mobility is more of the problem for you than reducing a little damage.

mid i've been going fleet footwork w/ resolve secondary for bone plating and second wind, with dorans shield start its great against poke and bone plating helps me win trades especially against assassins or mages trying to be too greedy w/ their runes (domination/sorc eg.).
Its as it should be a solid defensive choice for surviving early that gets outscaled later in the game by offensive choices like ultimate hat and gathering storm, plus once people have damage even at 1 full item the defense it provides is considerably less significant except in small trades.
Plus you can easily poke bone plating off w/ a ranged auto or skill, back off for a couple seconds and boom its on like a 15 second cooldown.
