1 million mastery points on a champion now gets you a free skin

If you already own all of the skins, then you get a token that allows you to unlock one future skin for that champion for free.

Nay. Mastery points themselves don't mean terribly much. You could get a million mastery points eventually by losing a ton as well. The reward sounds nice, but rather than mastery points it should be based on a type of 'mastery level 8'.

Personally, my suggestion is give rewards like this for plays who, for example, achieved at least one S+ grade in a game on the same champ per 30 day cycle for an entire season since this would show that the player has proven consistent high level play on that champion.

Yes it's a lot, but the point is you don't have to be really all that good to get a million mastery points. Rewards shouldn't be given for something so easily just 'grinded'. Reward based on skill, not based on who has more free time.

can't imagine the mental fortitude on a man to lose 10000 games on one champion, and continue to play that champ

I was talking about an in-between. 1000 wins shouldn't earn you that kind of skin reward. Winning doesn't mean you did excellent. Rewards beyond mastery level 7 should be for far above average play and skill demonstration with a particular champ. Someone could just grind a bunch of wins, but those wins don't mean they're masters of the champ. I consistently get B+'s and A's on my mains, with some S-'s thrown in every now and then on a good day. Grinding a million mastery points through wins wouldn't be that hard, which is my point. The win shouldn't matter, ultimately, but instead the skill and gameplay should. The Ashe that knows how to land long range ults from base or another lane to initiate a team fight, the Azir who knows how to position himself and his sand soldiers around a team fight, the split push champs played to their strengths at the most opportune times, etc. Those are the kinds of things that should earn rewards.

There's a difference between being good and being great, and doing so consistently.

Especially if it's for a skin on them. They'd probably get the skin, and never touch the champion again.

I been playin Cait since Season 3. The mastery system is new, so I've been playing her the whole time. Every day, usually. I'm at 720,000 mastery points.

Realistically, they wouldn't be giving out many skins. BUT every skin they give out there is a skin they don't want to give out somewhere else. Be careful what you wish for.

I'm playing only since Season 7. I only play Soraka. I already have 1kk points mastery points with her. I think I don't deserve a skin because of that. I would prefer something based in how much S+ you are able to get.
