Is Warrior's enchantment in a good spot?

It is the least used Jungle item, compared to release where it was the most popular. I would say 90% of junglers are better off using Cinderhulk or Devourer, as there are few champions who actually benefit from Runeglaive (Diana, Evelynn, Elise to name a few). I know some core champions for Warrior is Rengar, Lee Sin and Kha'Zix, but they are not often seen in this meta (Lee more than anybody else). I was just curious how people felt about it because I feel like it just need 1 slight buff to contest with the Sated Devourer and Cinderhulk users. I don't think it was unbalanced at first, but adding a passive that would do something like dead-mans plate or give it like 5% bonus AD so that it scales better into the late game would drastically help it. Warrior is a pure early game item for hard damage, but late game it's pretty useless as there are better options to use. All other enchantments bring far more to the table than Warrior does, Devourer has Sated, Cinderhulk has AoE magic burn + % health scaling and Runeglaive has AoE % AP damage (to monsters only), but Warrior is just flat damage. Look at every full build AD item (even reaver) and they all have some sort of unique passive/active, so why wouldn't warrior's enchantment get one? These are my thoughts, just wondered if anybody else agreed.

It's bad. Yet Riot does nothing. Go figure..

Warrior is fine in my opinion honestly. It gives you really nice skirmishing tools in the early/early-mid game. This will give you a really nice edge over your Cinderhulk and Devourer enemies who need to to take time to get the full effect from their enchantment.

Shaco being the only Warrior jungler over 50% winrate is fine.

That's a very good point. So you think that the strong early, mediocre/strong mid makes up for the lack of late game usefulness? That makes sense though, because if you have good map control with Devourer, you can hit Sated 18~23 minutes into the game. That's with 1st dragon, scuttles when they're up, farming and ganking for kills/assists, would put you around there (or so I've noticed in games where my team is doing well). Now if you're Devourer and behind, that's harshly punishable as most junglers like Udyr, Kayle, etc. gain massive power spikes off 30 stacks. Cinderhulk early is really not that useful, so it would make sense. Good thoughts, thanks for the reply.

It would be nice if it gave some additional Armor Penetration passive, that would benefit pretty much everyone who builds it.

Barring that, maybe some kind of %HP damage? That would help against the cinderhulk junglers, at least, but maybe not against the devourer junglers

I love the idea of % health, as long as it wasn't over the top high. Because it wouldn't provide much benefit versus carries, but would punish Cinderhulk junglers like Volibear, Sion, Maokai, etc. etc.. This would bring another aspect to the game where you counterpick junglers. Usually you see Junglers picked into composition rather than picked to counter like you would in mid lane or bot lane, but rarely do you see it in Solo Queue. I think knowing, or guessing, that they are going to have a Cinderhulk you could pick into something like Wukong or Rek'Sai to counter them.

Suggestions (one of the below):

  • Rework into a Tiamat effect: Tiamat is a much wanted item amongst Warrior junglers but it means that they'll have to delay their defensive items or have to let go another offensive item that they like (BC/TF) or that they just can't afford to get it (because BC/TF is higher priority). This is personally my favourite option. I love Tiamat and would like the be able to use it on more junglers. If you put sheen into the AP jungle item, why not this??
  • Add back the 5 AD (simple but not really amazing)
  • Add the dmg over time effect from the PBE but restrict it to Melee only (seriously, is there any ranged Warrior jungler atm? Since devourer outclasses this item, I think all of them currently go Devourer anyways, so restricting them from this effect won't hurt. BTW tiamat is also melee only.)

That would be a cool effect, but it would render Ravenous essentially useless in most Warrior builds, as then you could rush another item instead of Tiamet -> Ravenous. I believe if they made would tweak it to scale off of AD like mentioned in my initial post of like 5%, it would make it useful for pure damage carries like Rengar and Kha'Zix to be viable. Cause in a full damage build of lets say, 425 atk, the 5% would add an extra 21.25 dmg onto that. Making the intial item 40 + 21.25 late game, 61 attack would make that item far more useful. But on mid-range builds, like I build on Rek'Sai, where I have roughly 254 atk with Warrior/Trinity then build into tank; It would still give me 1213 bonus ATK on top of that making the item essentially 40+12, ~52 atk. I think something as small as that would make the item help bruiser build Warrior junglers like Wukong or Rek'Sai a little bit stronger as people continue to stack armor/hp. But I don't think throwing a Tiamet into the recipe would change much for the item, as it would take away from existing items and cause for certain champions like Kha'Zix or Rengar to force buy something other than Hydra since you can't stack actives/passives.
