Kog'Maw current viability/possible QoL, utility buffs

With the rise of mobile bruisers, ashe rework, vayne being top pick, how do you think Kog'Maw fits in all of this? If you had an opportunity to change him so he could be played more enjoyably, what would you change? (without strong buffs) Personally, I think his Q feels a bit inefficient in comparison to similar abilities (fmpov doesn't really have the synergy with the rest of his kit)

Kog'Maw is fine. He's a weak champion by himself and without a lot of room for error. However, you can build a comp. around him and then he's pretty good. He's just not a pick that is good by itself like Jinx. I think his AP is weaker than his AD if they're looking for buffs.

i would change his innate and Q. maybe change his innate to make him do a % of his damage as true damage when the enemy is in melee range. it'd be just as situational as his current innate but actualy maybe keep him alive.

as for Q maybe make it's range scale with W it always seems too short ranged to hit the target i want..

Weak and overnerfed for soloQ (LC$ big plays!!!) - Trist and Jinx have the same carry potential, but are not weak without 4 supports around them...

I feel an easy way to make him more appealing is to give him a more defined role. He is a lategame beast as both an ADC and an APC, but he has the same flaws as Ezreal IMO because he can do well as both, he often "loses" an ability because one is lacking when built one way. As an ADC he really only has his W and everything else just augments his ability to AA more efficiently. Sure they help him get through the laning phase, but outside of that they really only offer him utility. As an APC his W and to a somewhat lesser extent his Q aren't as great because if he is played correctly, he can just use his R to kill them. His E lets him zone very well and then his Q is useful, as it chunks hard. His W is nice if he has the time to weave AA's between his casting, but in most cases if enemies are that close to him later in the game, he is in trouble.
