I love how people confuse ARURF & URF as the same thing.

"URF is unfun and overrated." Actually no, it used to be fun and something I always looked forward too.

Until.. The next URF happened and Riot FORCED you to play random champions you're not even comfortable with and make it completely un fun to play for most of the community I'd like to say.

URF is not overrated and it is fun, please do not put them in the same category.

"People will just spam the same champions" We have a ban system buddy.

"People will abuse toxic champions if not banned!" I highly doubt they will make it out of the banning stage if they are THAT toxic. Sentence above.

"ARURF is more balanced" Explains why everyone almost hates the damn mode.

Just bring URF back Riot.. They are not the same mode in my eyes and everyone loved URF way more then some Random damn mode.

URF Itself is kinda shit. Wether it's random or not.

Cavemantero8/20/2017, 1:52:15 AM11 votes

I like ARURF better. I get sick of seeing the same 16 champs...the only problem I have is they should make the free pool consist of 20 champions rather than 10 to keep the 11 champ players honest.

ZephyrDrake8/20/2017, 1:57:17 AM7 votes

ARURF and URF are the exact same things. The only difference is that one picks the champions for you and the other doesn't. The exact same basics and exact same rules otherwise apply to both modes. Do not come here trying to pretend that just because you can pick your champion in one makes it not suck or anything. the same imbalanced things happens, the same issues are there. The only difference is that you see the exact same things over and over and over and over and since games are a lot faster they just blend with each other. If a mode randomly selecting a champion for you ruined the mode for you, then sorry i guess? but it's still the same terrible mode regardless

Like the other thread, this is ENTIRELY your (and maybe many other's) opinion. You can't measure the 'fun' value of something.

If you don't like it, don't play it. Treat it the same way you do Ascension, or Poro King, or Twisted Treeline, or how you did Dominion.

When regular URF was around, it received so many complaints and backlash that Riot changed it to the all random version it is now. It still gets complaints, which is why it's rarely ever available. There's no way a broken-by-design game mode like URF will ever be even remotely balanced or fair. It's just how it is.

LyingOnLine8/19/2017, 11:46:23 PM5 votes

URF is and has been overrated, and it was absolutely stale cancer with a meta of champions that made you want to tear your hair out.

Face it. ARURF exists because URF sucks.

AirKingNeo8/20/2017, 1:49:06 AM4 votes

Reminder that these boards are the idiots who got it changes to random, ruining the gamemode.

I did tell them it was a bad idea and they did not listen.

ninjaroxas8/20/2017, 4:30:37 PM4 votes

Expect you know they aren't going to ban those champs if they want to play them

Marshbouy8/20/2017, 12:15:59 PM4 votes

URF is not overrated and it is fun, please do not put them in the same category.

URF is incredibly overrated and is arguably not fun. It's constantly spammed about on the boards and everyone makes it seem like it's the savior of the planet.

"People will just spam the same champions" We have a ban system buddy.

you can't ban 20 OP champions. If you ban ezreal someone will play maokai. If you ban ezreal and maokai someone will play shaco. And on and on. Anyway, isn't one of the popular opinions right now that there is "too much OP stuff to ban"?

"People will abuse toxic champions if not banned!" I highly doubt they will make it out of the banning stage if they are THAT toxic. Sentence above.

hahaha sure. Try telling "twitch isn't toxic, you can just ban him. If he gets through the ban phase he must not be THAT toxic." Even then another OP champ will just replace them. Part of my issue with urf is that you can never test out and play what you want to. If you try to you just get shit on by an ezreal/maokai/teemo/shaco.

Zero Skill Tank8/20/2017, 9:00:44 AM4 votes

People who say "URF is unfun and overrated." do mean URF.

ARURF was created for this very reason. Wheter or not it solved the issues or made it even worse is debatable, but simple fact is that ARURF was created because of how bad second round of URF went.

ARURF recieves much complains, but nowhere close to absolute outbreak of bitching that URF got.

Dr Poro8/20/2017, 9:07:35 PM3 votes

The second time URF came out, I got bored really quickly. You'd always face the same champions. You couldn't possibly pick an immobile melee because everyone's either ultra poke or some crazy 1 shot assassin.

Then ARURF came and even when you get a shitty champ like Braum or Tahm, you can sometimes have a really good lane because you're against a similar bad champion or against a player that is not very comfortable on his champ.

I really love the ARURF mode and seeing that the queue times are way lower than for normal games, I think it's not overhyped.

Vectros8/20/2017, 12:55:11 AM3 votes

I find both unfun. Urf was fun the first 2 years-but then everyone figured out the meta. There simply aren't enough bans to take out EVERYTHING OP in that mode, leading to repetitious, stale games, where I'm constantly fighting the same matchups. Sure, I can pick someone I want, but it still isn't fun.

Sir Yamazuki8/19/2017, 10:37:04 PM3 votes

The issue with random is it creates more of an imbalance, and not like it is fully Random. I go up against a few of the same champions often while I'm basically an immobile melee or immobile short range champion nearly every game lol

Almost every single game the entire opposing team are champions that I can't kill unless they afk. I don't like ARAM, and turning all these extra game modes, that I already don't tend to like as much as normal SR, into random just feels horrible to play. They can always just add the random button to champion select like we had before and let people consent to a random pick, because I used to click that myself in normals. I would spam random until it locked me in and what ever it landed on I would jungle.

If I could upvote you more than once, you'd have a million upvotes.

SSShutTheDuckUp8/20/2017, 10:08:56 PM2 votes

Downvote me as much as you like, I still prefer the AR version. Messing around with champions I do not usually play can actually be fun. Also I haven't seen toxic players in my AR URF games. No need to remind you the flame and the rage in the old version. Funny thing is that this time I see the same rage towards RIOT for having the audacity to release a mode for people to actually have fun, mess around and do silly things. Coincidence?

Noblewind8/20/2017, 6:24:08 AM2 votes

I've played this game mode 3 times now and don't really like it. TBH if it wasn't all random I wouldn't have even tried it

TeemoXNidalee8/20/2017, 4:29:02 PM2 votes

Upvote, arurf is complete garbage, playing a dice game is more fun imo.

Shadòw8/20/2017, 8:50:06 PM2 votes

I love how people think that their opinion reflects that of the whole community.

The majority of the people still enjoy it, many people i know, including me, like the randomness because people don't just pick what's most OP/toxic. Even with Bans, people would just pick whats most OP after the banned champs, and the banned champs will probably never see play in the mode.

Just get over it, only because the boards say ARURF is shit doesn't mean that it actually is bad.

AR URF8/21/2017, 12:41:22 PM1 votes

when I make a similar thread and get down votes.

BoilTheOil8/20/2017, 2:15:50 AM1 votes

it was most fun at first because they didn't nerf everything, everything was broken as fuck and nothing got nerfed like heca Q it was fun

EkyonKun8/20/2017, 10:25:19 AM1 votes

This suggestion may be lost to the wind, but may we consider reroll tokens in ARURF to be changed into "Chosen Tokens"? Where instead of getting another, random champion. You get to pick for that game. We don't have URF year round like we do ARAM, so actually getting a CHANCE to PICK something to have fun with sounds much, much better.

JohnnyNeverSins8/20/2017, 4:27:23 PM1 votes

I personally hate arurf...but please be open minded there are people who like urf and people who like arurf what rito could have done is make it so that one week we play arurf and one week we play urf or something like that so both sides are happy.

Lauchmelder8/21/2017, 9:21:38 AM1 votes

{quoted} "People will just spam the same champions" We have a ban system buddy.

There's more than just 10 champions and people will just move to the next set of OP champions, only playing those. Buddy

"People will abuse toxic champions if not banned!" I highly doubt they will make it out of the banning stage if they are THAT toxic. Sentence above.

That's actually not an argument on your side.

"ARURF is more balanced" Explains why everyone almost hates the damn mode.

It is way better because you lose to chance, not to the same shitty tryhards over and over. For someone who absolutely hates URF due to the toxic mindset of people who just want to farm IP and thus win as fast as possible with their OP picks (instead of having fun) ARURF is better a million times over. At least the people who want to have fun in the mode that was supposed to be all about fun thanks to it's spammy nature can finally have it. If the tryhards and IP farmers whine about it I could care less.

Just bring URF back Riot.. They are not the same mode in my eyes and everyone loved URF way more then some Random damn mode.

Nope, URF was garbage because it was Hecarim, Evelynn, Wukong, Ezreal, Zed, Urgot, Ali, Blitz, Kassadin and Sona 24/7. Inb4 "hurr durr bans durr hurr". Yes, then we have the next set of toxic champions who get played 24/7. Such variety. Much fun.

I Love Thresh8/21/2017, 11:15:28 AM1 votes

I would honestly be fine with ARURF if it was actually random.
