Tfw zed is a higher priority ban than Ekko. Dark times, dark times. ( )

Oh yea.... and Malz is in a generally terrible state too.

It's only smart to ban a champion that you don't fully understand yet, or have a means of countering. I wouldn't ever ban Zed, because I know how to counter him. Malz on the other hand, is a little trickier since his changes allow him new strengths and weaknesses that people just haven't learned yet. I don't understand how people can't understand how to counter Ekko or Kindred. Did they pick Ekko? Pick Udyr. Did they pick Kindred? Pick Ekko. Did they pick Udyr? Pick Kindred. Did they Pick Soraka? Pick Blitzcrank.

IF THEY PICKED YASUO/ZED/KATARINA/AHRI/FIZZ, PICK MALZ!! Maybe that's 92.86% of lobbies who need to do that though.

Chances are, if you see one of these counter-pick champions banned, assume the champion they counter hardest is coming.

Win Rates and Ban Rates doesn't paint the whole picture of champion balance.

never pick kindred into udyr, his kit allows him to stick to kindred and out damage the pair

Udyr has 1, 1 second stun for 6 seconds, after that, keeping your distancing for the next 6 seconds is not hard. If picking Kindred into Udyr is too hard for you, then you shouldn't be playing Kindred. Kindred into Udyr is the best display of mastery and/or understanding of how to play Kindred.

A stun>phoenix>tiger will typically be enough to chunk down a kindred for most of their health, the shield will protect you long enough for your stun to be back off cooldown if you couldn't get off 2 more auto's in time to kill the kindred.

Kindred has a stronger early game than Udyr. If she can keep up with her %health stats, she can do ~15% of Udyr's Max Health within 2 seconds, not building any actual AD items. Factor in AD, Sustain, and some Good Skill you're talking about 20-30% of health gone without ever having done any real amount of damage in return. Then it's a cat and mouse game while Kindred dances around you and deals damage while resetting her attack timer.

Again, Kindred into Udyr is a true display of champion mastery, since it can be pulled off without Udyr doing any damage whatsoever.

Ban rate says all. Win rate says all. But RIOT doesn't think so. Recall in 6.7 when Fiora win rate was 50.04% and they gave her an epic nerf. Now Fiora win rate is 48%. Riot is happy now.

On that matter, I agree with Riot. obviously they didn't love Fiora as much as they love Ekko/Zed.

I dont know why they hare Fiora so much. I was planning to buy PROJECT: Fiora skin. But RIOT prevented me to do that :)

Not to say that zed isn't a good ban, but ban rates can be misleading sometimes with regards to the champs actual power. Lots of people are terrified of zed due to the lack of qss ult nullification, but an unbanned zed doesn't necessarily have an unreasonable win rate compared to other champs (blitzcrank for example) in actual practice.

I think the QSS modification is a viable excuse to bad him, that paired with the extended CD of item 3157 to 2 minutes. So either Ban him, or take a and a damn item 2045 in an effort to try to make it work. A terribly timed buff and nerf respectively.
