Meta picks are like universal strategies we deem to be the best currently. Off meta picks should be rare because they're niche.
That's not how it works, especially in the deadliest lane that's most likely to cause the team to lose.
Unfortunately so many people out there look at the meta supports and just say, "I wanna be Wukong!" You need to have a reason behind your pick, ESPECIALLY as the support.
People need to stop trying so hard to make something work that obviously requires you to do more for less. It's okay to play Janna or Nautilus with their regular builds, that does not make you boring, and that does not take away from the fun of the game.
Going AD LeBlanc support doesn't make you the life of the party.
