Is anything definitive going to actually be done about supports being played in Mid?

I have no problem with occasional supports being played mid, or supports that actually belong in mid(like Morgana) but I have a problem with supports or a support playstyle like gold funneling becoming popular and priority in mid lane though.

I have no idea why Riot thinks it's more important to hotfix crit items than fix or test fixes to this problem immediately. Nerfing Taric, or taking away Yi's bonus damage to minions(but massively buffing his jungle clear) is NOT a solution to the problem. Mid lane is in a far worse state than bot lane is as far as having an existential crisis is concerned.

I mean they cant exactly fix gold funneling though, because supports are designed to operate on both low income while keeping someone else relatively healthy.

the strats would remain the same no matter if the support goes toplane. the only reason its priority midlane is because its the most efficient, you can take a pit stop as you transition between each side of the jungle.
