Should Sion be allowed to keep a buff if he dies in the process to get it?

This is something I've been noticing lately, but a lot of (good) Sion Top players have taken to going and stealing enemy buff camps, dying in the process but finishing the camp off using his passive. The odd thing is however that after respawning he still has the buff, leading to a significant advantage against his laning opponenet in both level and stats.

Whilst I think the strategy is a smart move by Sion players, I can't help but think that it is also a little too advantageous to them.

Doing so he gets to level 2 faster than his opponent, denies the enemy Jungle Blue Buff (along with people the jungler could potentially give it to instead), and gets a buff in the process.

The big disadvantage of this method is being forced to respawn and potentially being late to lane, but that is pretty much negated due to the Teleport spell.

I just feel that since Sion dies in the process he should not be able to keep his buff as well due to the other advantage he (and his team) also get as well.

Start warding your buffs when you see Sion on the enemy team, and go get a free kill. This is a strategy game.

There was a recent change that made getting executed (by minions/turrets/ jungle monsters) not remove buffs, since that made any jungler who misjudged a camp become useless for the next several minutes early on. As Sion did not die to a person, he keeps any buff he takes.

Isn't it a bug?

If Sion is top then ward for your jungler at the 1:55 mark. You'll still get back to lane on time and if you're lucky you get a free first blood and a red buff :)

Sion or anyone else, the lane opposite the jungle start side should almost ALWAYS ward the buff or somewhere in the area for their jungler around 1:45-1:50.

You'll still get to Lane in time to last hit the first creep. An added advantage is that the enemy team will see both top and bottom lanes arrive late and can't be certain which side the jungler started on. Most importantly though, it prevents the enemy from stealing a buff for free. If they come in to take it, just wander down once they've taken some damage, land an attack before he dies, and thank him for first blood (and possibly you get level 2 off of finishing the buff instead).

Even without a ward, if you notice the enemy top laner is missing (especially sion, but anyone who can clear a buff without a leash) you should go check the jungle. Even if they aren't taking a buff there's a decent chance they're hiding waiting for your low health jungler to come get his second buff.

Protect your jungler. This is a team game. Ward your own jungle early, start to ward the enemy jungle if you're ahead and continue to ward your own if behind. You always need vision on a decent part of the jungle.

I find it hard to believe that "good" sion players take advantage of this, you would think their opponents would notice their absence and take an early first blood... *I too have seen this in Diamond-challenger Games I've spectated though. Always shocks me how the top laner naively assumes his opponent is dc'd or providing a leash or something...
