Hopefully Azir gets gutted like everyone else when he finally gets reworked.

Never had a problem against Azir though I recognize he is strong. Any long range Mage/AD caster can melt him in lane and if you don't lose your cool he is more than beatable in mid/late game.

Its not about how weak/strong he is.

He is a terrible design. His kit is not enjoyable to go against. There's no answer to it. Any of it, outside of 'have mobility' or more range.

Sound familiar? Vladimir The difference being that Azir's laning is so cheesy and safe that he doesn't even have to worry about early game strength.

If you want to see an unenjoyable enemy in alne go check Fizz . Anything that doesn't hard counter him by baseline mechanic is going to be a free kill each time he gets close to you without any chance of retailate.

Azir might be stressing to deal against but he is far from being toxic.

Azir's kit is designed around his lore. An Ascended Emperor that has the power to control sand and fights to bring his empire back to it's former glory.

Hence conjuring up Sand Soldiers to fight for him. Cause we all know Emperor's don't fight, they command others to fight for them.

It's not an argument about his theme. The concept of untargetable 'minions' dealing damage to you is the problem. Orianna has the same issue with her ball, but with her the problem is a bit less obvious as she can only reel back her ball once Q is on CD. Wth azir you can use Q and W to put a solder into a new position, and his solders do not cost mana to use once in position (while ori has to spend mana to damage you). It's not unbeatable, it's not OP, just plain irritating.

When you play against Azir, pick a champion that either have : -Long range -Great mobility -Really good waveclear -Sustain

Someone like Ahri is good agaisnt Azir, since you can sustain with your passive, allowing you to survive pre level 6 when he pokes you a lot. Once you hit 6, you can easely kill him if you play well. 3 dashes to dodge his sildiers, plus a good amount of damage with EWQ.

Ziggs is also someoen who can be really good against azir. You waveclear a lot faster than azir. Azir needs the minions to stay put in order to clear effectively. Ziggs clears the minion wave so fast, Azir either has to take minions aggro to clear or go undertower and lose some.

Try to engage on him as soon as he uses his Q. it has a cooldown ranging from 10 to 6 seconds, and thus can't reposition his soldiers for that period of time.

I actually had an argument with a guy that said Azir was OP because he supposedly had a ridculous range, massive damage with 1 soldier, and hard to dodge his attacks. Cause apparently it is impossible to dodge 3 soldiers coming at you with his Q......

But yea, completely agree with you. Azir is strong but can be won out against by champs like Ahri, Diana, Ziggs, and Zed (but he can also win against them if the Azir knows how to cover up his weaknesses)
