Stinger

Recipe: Dagger x2 (600) + 400 = 1100

+40% Attack Speed

Unique Passive: +10% Cooldown Reduction

Trinity Force

Recipe: Sheen (1050) + Phage (1250) + Stinger (1100) + 300 = 3700

+250 Health (667) +250 Mana (350) +30 Attack Damage (1050) +40% Attack Speed (1000) +20% Cooldown Reduction (600) +5% Movement Speed (198)

Rage and Spellblade unchanged from live Triforce

Efficiency: ~104% before passive effects

With 20% CDR, plus improved AD and AS, this Trinity Force is the premier power-spike for people who like weaving abilities and basic attacks together for those big Spellblade hits, using that as their consistent damage without finagling with critical strikes. Considering the effort put in to complete this item, the payout should logically be good, right?

Sure, the movement speed no longer comes from anything, but it's a magic triangle. It cares not for your base logic. Plus, Stinger's icon is a single blade. With this, Triforce builds out of three single weapons now, since Zeal's icon has two swords.

If it were to only have 10% CDR, that would require reverting Sheen to its original state, but this thread is about Stinger and not Sheen, so I just rolled with it.

It's not that Riot wanted to make it an ADC item so much as their streamlining crit kinda turned it into one. Due to the whole "upgraded crit items have at least 20% crit chance" rule.

Honestly, though, more CDR means more ability casts, which means more Spellblade procs. Those procs are the damage spike that Triforce is for, not random crits. At least, that's how I imagine it should be.

But then it wouldn't be so strong on ADCs -_-

Now, seriously, if you build both essence reaver and trinity, you have 40% CDR. That's another reason I though it's made for ability based ADCs primary

Trinity Force has always been a caster/duelist-type item first and foremost. The only marksman who really built it was Ezreal, who is also one of the marksmen who cares the least about crit chance.

ADCs have no shortage of other crit sources, any of which maxes Essence Reaver's CDR anyway.

The combat pattern Trinity Force is designed for doesn't benefit from crit chance as much as just straight-up auto-attacking, which is why emphasizing the CDR and raw combat stats plays to its strengths.

I was only 5 AD and 33 gold off from predicting it exactly. Neat.
