Why can't you just admit your mastery rework was an awful idea?

By far, most builds revolve around different ways of applying damage. "Do you want to nuke them in half a second or over a short period of time?" Or absurd bonuses like free spells every 60 seconds (no mana cost). Attempting to force diversity doesn't work; there's an optimal path for each unique champion. All you've done was sped the game up even further, despite a vast majority of your community complaining about it. The game doesn't need more damage, especially mages.

but most mages have pretty weak follow up damage after their burst.

As it should be. I don't see why they should be entitled to both. They've a lot of utility to get in/out of fights or heavy cc, not to mention a pretty safe cast range. The only thing they don't do better than marksmen is chunk towers.

Ahri Lux Syndra Malzahar Leblanc Ekko (Leblanc 2.0), unlike say Velkoz Veigar who have the obvious weakness of lack or mobility and (at least in Velkoz's case,) unreliable cc.

They could've just made runes free then. But honestly, setting up some generalized damage buffing tree makes it harder to balance problem champions without overly nerfing others.

They are going the WoW route. "New innovative way to spec"- Half of the masteries are pointless. Guides set for the optimum way to play. New Expansion "New innovative way to spec"- Half of the masteries are pointless. Guides set for the optimum way to play.

wait... wait a second did you just say mages dont need more damage? not all the AD champs abusing duskblade such as ad assassins and the insane amount of damage ADCs are doing with PTA?

Why are you implying that I think they don't? Especially lethality. I'm just pointing out how loaded AP items are combined with the safest kits and class in the game. Damage overall needs nerfs. Mages need higher cooldowns or higher mana costs so they can't start spamming spells once they finish item 3165 . item 3812 needs to be removed, as it's basically a better item 3072 unless there's a item 3075 worth noting and grants defensive stats and cdr without sacrificing damage or lifesteal. item 3046 should be reverted to its old unit collision passive considering it offers true damage reduction and I agree that's ridiculous, along with item 3047 nerf. item 3035 items need a bit more % armor pen and towers need to deal more damage, so bruisers/juggernauts take some real risk when they dive/fight under tower for extended periods of time. Ffs JarvanIV can nearly executed a squishy with nothing but item 3071 and item 3053 for AD and still be pretty tanky. Obviously not enough to survive an entire teamfight, but easily more than enough to act as a pseudo assassin and delete someone in less than two seconds before an auto attack or two despite 20% lifesteal and 50% crit can do them any good. There's plenty wrong with the game; I'm just pointing out a few of many.

I think the 2 champions that are broken right now because of the new Runes system are: Udyr Shyvana Udyr just stuns you and shreds you with tiger stance. (Press the Attack or Lethal Tempo) Shyvana is tanky and mobile with high damage output. (Press the Attack)
