Just bought Irelia so that I can learn a more carry-like Toplaner, and I was wondering if anyone could offer build/combo/gameplay advice.
From what I understand, Triforce and Mercs are core (except against a heavy AA team, in which case go Tabi) and then tanky after that. Any other general advice?
Also, what are Irelia's general combos? Pre-6 harass, all-in, etc.
And should I be roaming, farming, splitpushing, bullying my laner, etc.?

Linna Excel1 votesYou don't have to go full tank after TF, but most do. IIRC, bork isn't bad on her.
Most important tip though is don't go goldbay ham on her when you are starting out. Yes she can make flashy plays, but until you learn her, just play her safe. Learn her powerspikes... she's usually played safe until level 6. Learn the power spikes of the other top laners if you don't already. Learn when to use your E in trading as you want the stun more than the slow. Learn how to Q a low minion, sheen AA the other laner, wait 1.5 seconds then Q>AA him. After you get your sheen, learn how not to spam your ult. You've got to wait for the next sheen proc to be ready before you use the next charge on your ult to get the most burst out of her.
