As a Darius one trick in d4, he won't be banned. There are too many must bans rn for him to be a constant ban

Zoe, Malz, Kha, Rammus, Yas, Sion are all banned every single game

I hate Darius with a passion, whenever I see buffs I start auto-banning him when I go top lane so I don't have to deal with his bullshit.

I mean, I have like a thousand ranked games with him in Plat-Diamond elo so I understand he takes a lot more skill then people think.

My point was lower elo players don't understand how to lane vs him or what champs counter him so they think he is just broken vs melees

I don’t think Darius is strong, btw, but this is a stupid argument. I’ve seen many melee teammate members just give him free healing when trying to gank him.

Um, I’m in D1 and i see him picked. Yeah 90% of the time it’s just metaslave top laners, but he’s one of the nonmetas that pop up now and again in that 10%

Whenever he does pop up he normally destroys me cuz I have little matchup knowledge for it and I only play Yorick.

Other Yorick mains are telling me Yorick wins that matchup but I've yet to understand what to do here besides puss out til level 6.

Not exactly. If you wall him when he goes on you he just waits til ur at max E range then pulls you to counter the entire point of the wall. Feelsbaddude.

Sounds all well and good in theory, but in practice how do you spawn ghouls in the first place?

Last hitting minions with Q right?

Now whatcha think Darius is doing while you're doing that?

And that's why it doesn't actually work :/

Like, post-6 you can take him while ult is up, but pre-6 you're at his mercy. It's one of those stand by turret and just soak XP lanes.

Well, while he is my main and tried-and-true, that's why you need to have a large pool of champions to choose from if he DOES get banned. Besides, just because he's getting these buffs (While I don't think they were needed, they're nonetheless appreciated) doesn't mean he'll always be a good pick, especially if you're first in champ select.

Honestly, if you're at least in plat 3 or above, you'll be able to play darius most of the time.

Sure there will be a little hype and his ban rate will go up a little, but these changes are less drastic than you think.

These changes are geared towards mid-late where darius struggled really hard.

The W change you'll only feel the cdr component. No darius in his right mind maxes W first or second, so the damage buff component won't mean anything until late game.

An extra 5% armor pen won't be gamebreaking early game when people are rocking 40-60 armor (at 60 armor, you'd be negating 3 more armor, you won't be one shotting people with that).

And Q, which darius maxes and uses first and foremost, received no changes.

All in all, these buffs are certainly nice, but I highly doubt they'll shove darius over the edge, especially with sion being the way he is right now, and nasus, and chogath, etc.

I expect darius to go to being on the semi-ish strong side, but I highly doubt he'll be BROKEN.

Now, this is all assuming youre plat 3 and above, as for my brothers in low elo? Permaban darius I guess?

Oh joy, the counter to every melee top laner just got a bunch of buffs he didn't need, such a great time will be had for all.
