So, firstly, that guy actively walks through the various stages and reasons of tilt. Heck, he sounds like he is on tilt in that video.
Secondly, This game has been pretty much the same since S1. Overall, the structure has remained the same, and the same concepts can be applied to win more games today. To be specific, overall concepts, not "XIN OP PICK OR BAN" or "STACK SUNFIRES TO AUTO WIN" but rather concepts like "ward more" and "focus objectives". Heck, I'm not even trying to claim these are new or exciting ideas. They've been with us since release. All that raging about how games last too long and what not in the video could have applied S1 tactics to win the games before the issue of long games came about. (btw, I was laughing so hard while he was bitching about 30 minutes being long. Sounds like someone from s3 who was spoiled by too many games being decided in the first 5 minutes of the game. In season 1, 45-50 minute games were common.)
Interesting. So let me get this straight; taking a break from ranked will magically give you better teammates and people who don't troll / feed the next time you start playing ranked again? How does this work exactly and what kind of sorcery is this?
Nothing magical about it. And I never claimed it would auto solve all problems. But it's pretty clear that Yenn has a pretty terrible mindset to go into ranked with. A bad mindset can change how you approach any problem, and as a result can negatively effect your play, or even worse can negatively effect your team's play.
For example, I've been pretty slow with my placements this season. I garuntee that every single match has had at least 1-2 Bronze level players on my team, judging by their attitude, general skill level, and choices that they make both in lane and in teamfights. These players have all quickly become weights to the team, like an albatross around our necks to bear. And you know what? I still managed to win 3 of 4 games played so far. The one I lost? I played bad. Yeah, I had an off game. It happens. You know what I did afterwords? I ate. No ranked game to try and make it better. Just food and a tiny bit of exercise.
Thing is, because I take my time, playing a game or two every few days, I tend to play with a pretty good mood, and that can really make the difference. How? because I am more tolerant of glue eaters in my placements because I don't deal with them every day. I am more willing to shove lane and gank, helping them win their lane.
Keep in mind I am doing this with mid Heimer, so it's not like these ganks are SUPER EFFECTIVE. However, they are effective at helping the player feel supported by the team, as well as making their opponent feel more insecure when they push. I have found that simple action of showing up in another lane can be enough to turn around a player who is bad and stubborn. If I am willing to do something way out of my champs comfort zone to lend a hand, they tend to be more willing to work with me.
One thing I realized about this game is that it is far too stressful to just spam matches without break. I started really enjoying this game, both the wins and losses, when I only played a few games a day. It has really helped me in my ranked experience, as when I can enjoy ranked this tends to translate into more people on my team enjoy that game.
Corny as hell, I know, but hey, it works.
