Change to Grasp of the Undying

Now that Warlord's Bloodlust will give a good sustain option to ranged AD champions, the halving of effectiveness of Grasp is unnecessary to prevent ranged champions from taking it. As far as I'm aware, the only champions that would take it that have range would be Poppy (with her passive which still counts as melee), Gangplank (who would probably start taking Warlord's since he builds almost exclusively damage, and again he counts as melee), and Gnar. Gnar is not that well serviced by the masteries, and this would be a small but appreciated (to Gnar players) buff to him. His winrate is not great right now, and he is definitely not OP. Nautilus is about to be in the meta, and is a counter to Gnar. Fiora also counters Gnar, as do plenty of other champions both in and out of the meta. Gnar will not be broken by this change. Anyways, thanks for reading and I would love to hear your constructive feedback.

  • Literally nobody but Gnar players wants any kind of buff to Gnar.

  • Grasp is already solid as hell on some ranged champions.

  • Making ranged champions even stronger in top lane is probably the worst thing Riot could possibly do.

i disagree with the first one. anyone who hates juggernauts doesn't have many options besides gnar to counter them, except maybe fiora (who let's be real, is way more annoying than gnar will ever be).

which ranged champions would rather take grasp than the new warlord's which gives plain old lifesteal based on missing health?

again, the change would not really affect top lane because only gnar would rather have grasp than warlord's.

if there really is a champion i'm somehow just not thinking of, correct me. but if there isn't, then there's really no argument against it. and riot buffs way more toxic champions than gnar all the time. i think gnar deserves a bit of equality in that regard. and i have said several times before that frozen mallet should be removed to make gnar less frustrating. most other frustrations are part of his design and are simply because someone played wrong against him. he is a balanced champion. and he is WAY better to play against than champions like Malphite and Darius imo.

have you played against her recently? you can't run away from her at all with her Q on about a 3 seconds cooldown. she does % health true damage that scales with AD. she can't be easily bursted due to her W and building some tanky items. her ult gives a fountain of healing for her team, so she can tower dive pretty easily. her W blocks ALL damage and CC and returns a stun if she blocks CC. try fighting her, and tell me again how fun it is to play against a decent Fiora.

that's because I played Morde against her, so I don't really give a damn about her brute damages.. I only play safe in early, and the game is mine :p

fair enough lol. morde does do some pretty outrageous stuff. but against the vast majority of champions, she is basically impossible to fight.

they should give %hp physical damages. so she'll be rewarded if she goes full AD. I don't understand what kind of mushrooms the balance team took

i think it would be fair to either have %hp physical or flat true damage scaling with AD. if they're going for the duelist fantasy, true damage scaling with AD would make more sense since it would have more similar effects between tanks and squishies than %health physical damage due to armor. the balance team is ridiculous most of the time.

on the topic of gnar, i know mini gnar is toxic and most people don't play well against mega gnar so they are punished, but I genuinely believe he is a well designed champion and with changes only to numbers on his speed boosts and attack range and with the removal of frozen mallet, he would be a much more satisfying champion to play against. his safety should be normalized throughout the game instead of only being weak to gap closers early in the game.
