Does anybody have any tips for getting more gold as a support?
After laning phase I really struggle with gold income when I play support. Most games I have 2 -3 items when the game ends.

take the kills screw you adc aint carryign anyway.
It may sound counter-intuitive, but I would recommend not upgrading your gold generation item (with the exception of Mage Supports who want Eye of the Watchers).
You are better off using your gold for more impactful items such as Ruby Sightstone, Locket of the Iron Solari, Redemption, Knight's Vow, Ardent Censor, or Frozen Heart.
These let you provide greater impact during fights which can provide gold from assists/kills and objectives.
I'm going to add a different caveat here. Instead of not upgrading your gold gen item, upgrade it into the sightstone version. You are technically supposed to buy a sightstone anyway, so upgrading it is only going to free up slots for build paths. Besides, the sightstone gold items give you hp.
actually has more hp than
, so it's better on champions like Braum, who actually has an ability that does damage based on max HP.
The main issue is that upgrading your gold-income items delays the completion of more useful items. Instead, I find it more useful to skip it and build another item early to maximize my strength.
For example, which of the following do you think would be more useful during a fight?
or

Yes! If the game is too fast-paced, definitely listen to this.
Actually be a part of kills. This is never a problem for me. If you're bad at using relic shield try coin instead. The passive gold is better on it. And yeah just get assists and roam.
Bandit and poke adds up. I also tend to take runes with lots of raw combat stats to give me wiggle room in what I build, so I don't waste as much money. Gold gen runes stopped being useful years ago, so stay well away from those.
Oh, and be a money grabbing scum bag. You're at base when someone's TPing to a fight? Shield them at the very last second so if they get a kill you get the assist gold.
if you go to other lanes to clean up waves. if you kill the casters and leave the tank minions the wave will start pushing away from your side.
The comments already posted are helpful, but I'll add in my two-cents!
Masteries: -Get the Bandit Mastery. You'll gain a passive extra 1 Gold for being near killed minions. That doesn't seem like a lot, but it adds up. -I suggest getting the Secret Stash Mastery, too. You'll save Gold because you get more from your potions, which become biscuits, including a bit of mana regeneration. They'll help you stay in lane longer.
Items: -Get the cheaper version of your support item, which gives you some more health stats and an extra ward, unless you are playing in a situation where you need Frost Queen's/Face of the Mountain/Talisman. -Take the support item you're comfortable with. If you're not good at poking with the Spelltheif, or you're not the best at focusing on farm with your Relic Sheild, then get the Ancient Coin. You'll passively gain gold by being near minions. -Don't be afraid to poke with your Spelltheif's. Confidence, but not over confidence, can really pay off! -Save a Relic Shield proc. for the Canon minion! -Sometimes finishing your support item isn't the best thing to do right away. Don't be afraid to buy, for example, Locket before you finish your Frost Queen's if the enemy AP is running loose! -Go for the cheaper boots. As a support you usually don't need the combat stats the more expensive shoes offer, so go for CD, Mobility, or Swift boots. -Only purchase items you need in your game. Don't buy the Mikael's if the enemy team has no CC. Instead, purchase the Locket if you need MR. You also generally don't need high damage items, so focus on utility instead of DPS/Tank.
Laning: -Stay in lane after your ADC leaves or dies, especially if the wave is crashing into your turret. Learn to farm as the champion you're playing and pick up that extra solo experience and Gold for yourself. (Note: Sometimes you should try to save that wave for your ADC, especially if they're behind, so this suggestion is situational.) -Clear wards constantly. Every time your Red Trinket is up, go to a lane or river bush and clear it. Learn bushes enemies pink ward often and take them. Roam to clean the wards up to both get gold and help deny enemy vision. Don't let your ADC take that 30 Gold, either; it's yours. -Try to get good Kill Participation with your items and game knowledge, and don't be afraid to secure kills. Don't intentionally take kills, but better safe than sorry. Never stop that constant flow of your DPS on them, but also don't save up your damaging moves to take it! KP generally helps you get a ton of extra cash!
I hope this helps! Good luck! [slayer-jinx-catface]
Always be on top of triggering your gold income item.
Be around minions for Coin. Roam to mid and apply pressure if you're pushing too far up in lane or your adc got killed and you can't hold out 2v1. For Relic Shield, ALWAYS get the canon minions. Otherwise, I beleive melee minions are worth more. Spelltheif's needs you to keep on top of attacking champs or structures, or hitting enemy champions with abilities. Killin a minion disabled the non-passive gold from this item (untill it is fully upgraded at least).
*KS - should mean Kill Secured, not Kill Stolen. That said, getting as many assists as possible. *Don't die. Is something I have a problem with too, but am working on specifically. Dying generates gold for the other team, which sets your whole team back that much. *Gold income items - build according to your champ. If you're tanky, learn to use relic shield. A poker/CC champ should grab spellthief. Passive support should go coin more often than not. *Build items geared towards getting your carry more kills or more sustainability. Vow and Locket are nice, but there's a reason Redemption is such a high priority preference. *Don't write off Boots of Mobility and Swiftness like most people do. Map mobility decides games. Consider trying Exhaust/TP over Exhaust/Flash for that reason, especially with a heavy support type like Morgana, Lulu, or Ivern. *Don't play passive, play 'passive aggressive'. Farm when you're under any turret or your carry is back/dead. Part of a supports job is to hold off the minion wave while the ADC nukes the enemy turret as much as possible.

The thing about support is that the typical support items are much cheaper than other items so you shouldn't need as much gold to be useful.
