Please Riot add a new ranked tier, split up silver

Not sure if this idea has been brought up before, but I am unsure why this is something so impossible to do or why it does not make sense to do.

So right now, 43% of the sever is in Silver and 21.21% is in bronze. https://na.op.gg/statistics/tier/. That is roughly 750,000 accounts in silver. To get into Gold, you have to be in the top 35-40% of the players on the server. I don't know about you, but this makes no sense to me. There are 7 divisions, but almost 65% of the server is in 2 of them? like wtf?

You can imagine how us lower elo players felt when you introduced master tier. You promoted it as this new, exciting, awesome thing that everyone would get to benefit from. All I saw it as was a huge middle finger to almost everyone who play this game, of course besides the upper 1% (well actually more like .1%. There are currently roughly 1,200 players in master tier and 200 challenger (which we all know is really like 500 players due to multiple accounts). So... this very small percentage of players got to see this new tier. I assume the reason for adding it was to separate the skills of those (bad diamond 1 + 2 players) from the "good" or "master" players. So lets think about that for a second. A tier was added to this game to make it more competitive for like 1,000 to 2,000 players. Yet, people still complain about how "bad" or "unequal skill" there is at this top tier. So if that is true for that few of players/accounts imagine for a second the skill difference between the 750,000 accounts in silver?? It's really hard to phantom isn't it?

Between the new players (who are auto put into not just silver but silver 2 & 3), smurfs, trolls, afks, good players, etc. its really a cluster fuck of who you play with. I have lived it for 3 years and its just gotten to the point of whatever. And anyone can say "get better" or "your 1 person who cares" I am by far not the only person bitching about this or who has experienced it. I mean shit... there was a thread earlier today from a Diamond player saying "damn even as a diamond smurf its hard to carry in silver". Idk it just really doesn't make sense to have 43% of players in the same div. If you add a new div, call its emerald or something, you could have roughly 20% in bronze, 20% in silver, 20% gold, 20% emerald or plat. It would honestly freshen ranked up a bit for a very large chunk of players and would help a little with a more consistent gaming experience.

Please explain why this is a problem, or can't be done. I have thought about it for 2 years and just don't get why we all have to be considered the same when in fact there is a large difference in player skill.

Was going to add there would probably not be 5 divs, but more like 3. Leave LP needed at 100 or move it up to 120 or 150 or w/e.

Or wood. I would intentionally get wood and stay there if they add it. And if it turns out to be a higher elo tier then guess I am going to have to grind for it.

Nah, that'd be for under bronze.

Meh there is huge difference between silver 1, 2, 3 and 4 and 5. There basically two different tiers, but right now you constantly play between the two instead of having them separated more. Its not going to fix every game experience but it sure as hell would be a lot better than now.

Oh you a high elo bro? that's cool. But really I mean f off.... Why does having Master and Diamond matter? why shouldn't they be the same? Or, why not combine plat and diamond? Lol. Answer that question and then maybe you can understand why this is a big deal.

It's an exponential distribution, not a uniform distribution.

I dont see how adding another low rank elo will solve anything what so ever. Silver isn't the bottom of the ladder where people could really complain but is the majority of the player base because the majority are casual players / players who struggle to grasp the game.

They split it up, so what? the players in the new elo are still not gold leve or they would of already been there. Its just so people can feel better about themselves.

And which ever diamond said its hard to carry in silver is sad to be honest. My smurf is S1 with like 20 games on it. Its mmr is now p2. Its not hard.

Sorry I've been a bit critical, but the average player who uses his/her smurf does & climbs a lot faster than their main accounts it's only natural since we learn from our mistakes which is base off the matchmaking rating. Heck all my best matches are in ARAM, finally had i good Kindred JG game recently.

Tell that to roughly 1,000,000 accounts.

Climbing isn't that hard, watching replays of your games is super helpful to improving. The only hard thing about climbing up is avoiding tilt, if you can mostly stay cool you'll keep winning. This is a strategic game after all.

I just checked out replay.gg last night. What you typically look for when reviewing your replays?

Identifying all the mistakes you can see. Losing trades, dying, etc. This game is about 20% mechanics and 80% decision making. Look at what choices you made in game, think about them, then think about alternate choices and how those could have played out. Also try setting a cs goal each game for 15 minutes in. A good starting goal is 100-130. In my climb from bronze to gold this helped me a lot.

There is no reason to add another tier. Riot added master because there was a huge difference on skill play between challenger players and some d1 players. But on silver the skill level is nearly the same. There is 5 division also. It's not like a silver 1 will be matched all the time with a silver 5.
