Shaco gets to have a lousy clear and because of his 'godlike' pre-6 ganks

But with the changes to this season, most of those champs that didn't really have a good gank opportunity unless the enemy is super extended, can just level to 6 so quick and start snowballing the lanes at that point.

Meanwhile, Shaco still is painful to clear the jungle with. I can't even think of another champion in the game that does not have any aoe abilities, and that's why Shaco is so painful to clear the jungle with.

There are plenty of junglers with no AoE.

But yeah, Shaco is horrible and it's on purpose. He will remain horrible until he's made not Shaco.

What about his box? that's an AoE fear

Does it do damage? an AoE fear doesn't speed up his clear

It actually does quite a bit of damage. If done right you can clear red buff and raptor camp at the same time with just boxs.

And even just using 1 per camp they deal like 400 damage with no ap.

The damage isn't AoE, and with the cooldown it isn't a lot of damage. Most champs with AoE abilities do that much damage to one target alone. The damage from a single box at rank 1 was 377, tested on red buff where mobs didn't attack it, with my masteries/runes. Again, the problem is him being able to spread damage among the camps.

I'd like to see this fabled raptor+red buff clear with boxes, boxes can't even kill red buff alone with 4, which is the max you can stack in S6 with the timing and mastery changes

Shacos clearing is far from the worse. Not worth complaining about.

If you are playing shaco, you should not be clearing your jungle. You should be clearing the enemy jungle.... of it's jungler.

Farm champions, my friend.

And if you can't farm champions for various reasons, you have to farm the jungle. Sure, you can Shaco cheese it up, get a kill or two early on the enemy jungler. That's what I typically do, but in almost every situation, that jungler has a quicker clear and they catch back up to Shaco anyways. You're not rewarded by killing the enemy jungler nearly as much as other junglers would be.

Take Warwick as an example as given above. Doesn't have AoE, but has insane sustain and clearing ability. Even if you match them up, Shaco gets lets say even two kills, one at a buff, one at the other or a camp, WW just goes back to farming up as quick as he can, and will likely hit 6 before Shaco does. I think it's a bigger problem with that kills don't give hardly any xp.

1 Kill gives you 50% of the xp to the next level of the slain depending on the enemy's level. I tested this, and if I get two kills on Shaco at level 2 vs a level 1 champion, I'll get 240xp. Two kills, worth less than a single camp. If he was level 2, two kills would've granted me 380, just slightly over one camp.

1 camp gives you 300xp, which is level 2, and until level 6, it only takes two camps to get a level. Shaco isn't strong enough in the least bit to kill the enemy jungler AND farm, so he has to pick. If he picks farming the jungler, he knows he'll be behind in levels, Shaco doesn't have nearly enough early game mobility, yes even Q, to have the entire enemy jungle covered with wards or himself to put the jungler from killing a camp, which again, is more than those 2 kills. If he's same level, then a camp, and single neutral monster can make up for two deaths

Here's a listing of the xp required to hit each level: To reach level XP 2 280 3 380 4 480 5 580 6 680 7 780 8 880 9 980 10 1080 11 1180 12 1280 13 1380 14 1480 15 1580 16 1680 17 1780 18 1880

So really the key isn't to farm them to where they can't level up, by doing so reduces your own xp gain, and Shaco's window for a strong game actually got squished with season 6
