Nerf Darius huh.
It's not like Jayce bullies everyone in lane while maintains strong'ish lategame. hmm good one

Goodish late game? Going from a 58.5% win rate to a 46.4% win rate late game (40 minutes) means he's got a good late game? What a joke his late game sucks which is why he's no longer going to tear build he used to always go.
Let me put this in comparison for you - Lee Sin who is knows to have a horrible win rate late game has a 47.5% win rate at 40 minutes. Pantheon has a 49.5% win rate late game. Even Renekton manages a 49% win rate late game.
you seem to have forgotten that "late game" starts at 20 minutes this season ... hue
would at least accept the changes if it wasn't a flat nerf across the board, now he's going to fall off even harder
at least buff his late game
nah bruh it's hard to escape a champion that has to run up to you with no gapclosers apart from his E which is barely in most adc range. But a champ that can lane bully better than a renekton while also maintaining good'ish late game and siege potential ohhh balanced.
I miss the renekton bar
The second you try to kite him, you're in range. Especially risky to try considering how off the animations and hitboxes are.
Kinda surprised he has no compensation buffs. Wasn't that a thing now? Compensation?
compensating bruiser for nerfs lul

Darius isn't flashy enough, and doesn't have long enough range, for compensation. Also, he's a bruiser and they rarely ever get compensated for nerfs in the same season.
Darius is just OP. Experienced Darius players have a 59% - compare that to the winrate of "flashy champions" like Riven. Experienced Riven players have a 53-54% winrate and obviusly an even lower winrate when less experienced. Darius deserves the nerfs, he is probably the strongest toplaner after Camille in this patch.
riven ahs a lower winrate cause riven needs to do a big ass combo to be viable late game. darius can be viable simply by tanking dmg for his carries.
Reliability is a strength that needs to be accounted for when balancing champions. As a matter of fact Darius outperforms Riven (and basically every other toplaner) regardless of how experienced the respective players are. So there are two solutions, either nerf Darius or buff the other toplaners - I am fine with both.

Or nerf CoC, which is why darius is so strong right now. Oh wait, theyre doing that. There shouldnt be a need to nerf darius on top of that...
Darius has a 53.4% winrate with CoC and a 58.6% winrate with Grasp. He synergizes so well with defensive masteries and just nerfing CoC won't be enough.

No mr. Shitlord he doesnt. He has a 54% win rate with CoC and a 51% win rate with grasp. Stop making up bogus numbers.

Where did you get your numbers?

Wow, I didn't know op.gg had that kind of information. Thanks for sharing that, I stand corrected, let's see how Darius performs after the CoC nerfs.

I think there is something wrong with champion.gg. Usually its reliable, but if you look at it logically, how can champion.gg say that darius has only a 51.9% win rate when his CoC win rate is above 53% and grasp at a whackass 59%?
Jayce is flashy and makes things happen.
Darius stat-checks and is most effective when he does nothing. Seriously. He's a staple in siege comps where is job is to sit on his ass and look scary. (>_>)
Difference is, you can outplay a jayce, or force him to fuck up his combo. The only outplay you can do to darius is weave in and out of his heal, and 2v1 him.
lmao outplay a jayce? I spammed my keyboard with him and still did a crap ton of damage
Yep, any displacement cancels his Q completely for example. Any tank who doesn't get cheesed early on can duel him after bami and a chain vest. And jayce is pretty vulnerable to ganks and squishy
Any displacement cancels his q compeletely (because people have the ability to hold cc which their damage is tied to for a possible all in that he only does when he is sure to get the kill) any tank (those slow immobile guys with low damage) who doesnt get cheesed early (what is jayce doing taking a vacation) can duel him after bambi with a chain vest (those take pretty long to get when you already arent built to farm and are getting bullied all lane) Jayce is pretty vunrable to ganks (ranged e r melee q e ) and squishy (thats how he is built because he is never in any danger see mages- except they have hp on their damage items so why not built it and marksmen )
outplay his ball i hope thats what you mean. you aint really outplaying his q into E into ball combo anytime soon.
Twice the pick(2nd highest in his role), FOUR TIMES the banrate (4th highest at 22.09%), and a higher winrate than Jayce at plat+ according to champion.gg. Darius poses a more visible threat to soloQ health. It's well known that Rito prioritizes changes to heavily played/banned champions.
But when was the last time someone complained about Darius? Season 5, in Juggernaut update?
Which was right before people started to realize that Gnar was actually kind of bullshit if you built him right. Gnar becoming popular made Darius less of a problem.
and gnar got hit hard with the nerfbat.
And tank top laners became more and more popular (tank ekko, maokai, naut, poppy, shen).
And Darius counters all those, so he became "good." Yet still, no one complains about him.
Here I am, I complain about Darius.
Darius is like the Ahri of top lane. Always good in the right hands, but not really oppressive because a lot of his kit has counterplay.
He should shit on Riven, but Rivens can still beat him easily.

"He should shit on Riven"
Not at all, Riven has all the tools to perform mini all ins before dashing out and darius can't really deal with it, well, until this dumbass fucking mastery called courage of the colossus came out. But even then, darius has a sub 49% winrate against riven.
One of the main reasons I picked up darius in season 4 was that Riven was really popular. It was after her prime, but she left enough of an impact that she had a dedicated fanbase. Dariuss kit right now basically just destroys everything that has a "simple" kit with just the 4 abilities and no paragraphs or something.
Besides being ranged or some other unique things, he doesn't do well vs the new updated flashy things.
old darius shit on riven. new darius is a purely skillmatchup vs riven untill 3items.
Darius is fine, he is just strong in low elo, where people don't know how to play against him. He is a lane bully if you let him be one. Pick Gnar, Irelia and crush him. Late game, peel him off with just slows lol.
Dude this nerf isn't even noticable, Handle damage was always garbage anyways.
Dude this nerf isn't even noticable, Handle damage was always garbage anyways.
Also passive nerfs, not just handle.
it's nto about wether or not the nerfs affect him alot or not. its about they nerf darius first while jayce is the epitome of fkn cancer in the toplane.
A lot of champions just got nerfed in 7.1, and on the PBE as of this moment, the only balance changes are nerfs. These changes may bring down the powercreep. Yay for Camille nerfs.
Besides, the nerf won't gut him (hopefully Darius mains are more mature than Shaco mains and won't try to prove to me that he is now useless. He's not, he's still quite terrifying). It's -10 AD from passive at level 1, but evens out to current values over time. How's Darius going to get 5 stacks at level 1 anyway?
I'm a Darius Main (L7 Champ Mastery) and thus far, I have no problems with these changes.
Here's a response I gave in another Darius related thread today explaining my opinion on the matter:
First, It makes it more important to land the OUTER part of his Q, which, if a person is any good with him, will try to always do.
Second, the passive changes are also fine, it will make a Darius player think twice before All-inning an opponent. Which, once again, a person who knows Darius's ins-and-outs should know that he has limitations and only go in when they KNOW they have the advantage. I guess I say that because I, more likely than not, play him more DEFENSIVELY than other Darius players might.
Woop, looks like Darius mains are true to the champion itself. No whining, taking it like a champ. Setting a good image in my mind already about you guys.
Though these nerfs are fairly small (don't squash me please, Noxian)

Almost the entirety of the darius main community opposes the passive nerfs, no one opposes the q nerfs, theyre justifiable.
The way I look at it right now is "When it goes live, we'll see how it impacts my playstyle with him." (Since I don't play on the PBE so I can't see how the changes would affect him till they go live, if they do.)
I can understand WHY the greater part of our group is opposed to them (The passive Nerfs), but I'm trying to keep a unbiased view of it.
Darius level 1-2 cheese is pretty terrifying and easy to pull off with a bit of AS from masteries or runes.
Give Riot some time - Jayce, I think, is on the upcoming hit list.
give rito some time? they are thinking to buff adcs. the more time we give them the worse the game becomes.
riot takes too much time to do any significant changes
