A while back used to cost a total of 900 gold prior to its most recent patch:

4.10: Recipe cost increased to 275g from 175g. Total cost increased to 1000g, from 900g. Attack speed increased to 25% from 20%.

Was thinking would be cool if could have a smaller version of itself that gives 20 Magic resist and no tenacity that costs 900 gold. I have a lot of builds that require magic resistance on boots, and sometimes I only need the tenacity until later in the game.
I just find in order to reach tier 2 boots with mercs can be quite taxing early game when you might not need the tenacity yet. But you still need the tier two boots.

Then just buy the magic resistance cape, besides tenacity cost far more then just 100 gold anyway, and honestly, removing the tenacity would remove the viability of the shoes. No one buys them for MR, they don't give enough raw amount.

You would still be able to buy the 1200 gold mercs. It would just be added to its path. So 900 gold for 20 Mr tier 2, and 1200 for tenacity and 5 Mr. Alright well if tenacity is worth more than 100 gold, then could just give 15 magic resist instead for 900 gold?

Thing is you still need the tier two mov speed boots. Example udyr is extremely dependent on movement speed, he cant really sit on tier one boots. Also being an auto attack reliant champion getting tenacity is also handy. However the tenacity especially as jungles might only be needed later on in the game. I'd like to complete my triforce before upgrade tenacity boots.

There might even be scenarios where I really don't need the tenacity but need the Mr. Like vs kat or champions with a lot of knockups.

Ormlike certain matchups like trynd top vs kassadin or vs rumble. Don't need the tenacity but need tier 2 and mr, paying 300 gold for tenacity sets you back.

Would have to balance all the other boots to get the same thing in a way then.

That's also sort of what I'm talking about, currently all the other boots have a more convenient tier 2 price point. Also 100 gold difference isn't as bad as 200 gold. Mmh, well figured since berserkers used to be that way for the longest time that it wasn't an issue.

I guess could be like 18 or 20 Mr for 1000 gold then?
