Gnar Base Health Regen lowered slightly Rage Gene (Passive) stats adjusted slightly, Mini MS up, Mega HP/5 up, Mega HP per level up, Mega AD per level up. Boomerang Throw (Q) damage lowered to 5/35/65/95/125 from 10/45/80/115/150 Boomerang Throw (Q) AD ratio increased to 1.15 AD from 1 AD Boomerang Throw (Q) width increased to 60 from 55 Boulder Toss (Mega Q) damage lowered to 5/45/85/125/165 from 10/50/90/130/170 Boulder Toss (Mega Q) AD ratio increased to 1.2 AD from 1.15 AD Hyper (W) flat damage lowered to 10/20/30/40/50 from 25/30/35/40/45. Wallop (Mega W) active cooldown changed to 15/13/11/9/7 from 12/11/10/9/8 The changes to Gnar’s health regen are mostly just to reflect the preseason stuff. His Q is doing a little bit too much damage in lane (in both forms), so its base damage (in both forms) is being lowered. The damage on his auto-attack enhancement W in small form is being nerfed too, and his early cooldown on his big-W has been increased. Gnar is a champion with a pretty high skill cap, since you need to be able to time your assaults around his transformation. Now that people are getting better at him, his buffs have made him a little too powerful, so he’s being toned back a bit.

I just want to point out that this is a straight up majour buff towards Gnar and he is already considered super powerful, this will place him over the top to the point that he may need to be perma-banned until he gets nerfed. Nothing here has him being 'nerfed' or 'toned down' when everything here does nothing but buff the ancient yordle.

  • He needs 166AD for his Boomerang (Q) to break even.
  • It takes 100AD for his Boulder Toss (Mega-Q) to break even.
  • Hyper (W) is a straight up nerf for most of the game, especially in lane.
  • The cooldown increase on Wallop (Mega-E) means maxing Hyper second is no longer an option.

Unless you're stacking AD on him, it's a straight up nerf. Everyone's base stats are getting readjusted for Season 5. Part of Gnar's stats are in his passive.

Are those AD numbers the amount needed in addition to his base AD? Q in both forms scales off total AD. If base AD counts towards those number, then they can easily be reached. His mega form will have more than 100 from base alone. And mini form would only need 67 additional AD.

Gnar has Total AD ratios, not bonus AD

wait... what??? AD needed to break even is smaller for Mega-Q (100 AD as opposed 166 AD in Mini-Q)??? his Mega have bonus BASE AD right??? so the Q is nerf in Mini and buff in Mega...

as Hyper/Wallop, maybe nerf in early game but make more balance late game...

oh, and BTW... although the cooldown of Wallop is increased at early ranks... the cooldown is break even at rank 4... and the base damage of Hyper is break even at rank 4... so...

maybe his strength comparison before and after change would be like this:

Wait, so Gnar is "OP" now? I think everyone claimed he was useless and unreliable? Make up your mind, community

Gnar was always considered OP, his boomerang was buggy which Riot already fixed - but regardless he is getting buffed massively this patch
