Will Illaoi be able to do what Morde does in bot lane?

I can't help but feel like Illaoi does exactly what Morde does ( she even steals souls! The terror!) She has a ranged AOE harass tool that's a bit narrower than Morde's, but is further reaching. She also heals off of it if I read carefully. What bothers me though is that she has an actual mobility spell over morde in the form of a gap closer, which reaches a Ludicrously low cooldown during her ult. I just wonder if Bot lane Illaoi will actually be able to compete with Morde for his spot. Of course Morde still has the dragon over her, but hey, I guess we'll have to see when she comes out

Ok cool. I create a discussion topic and instead of DISCUSSING IT, I get downvoted.

Illaoi-Morde bot would do some pain if it wasn't that they are gutting morde damage to be minimal.

On Topic: I don't think so, what made Morde a beast bot was his passive exp and dragon ghost mostly, then there was the oneshotting mechanic.

Possible but unlikely. Adding more enemy champions in a lane and guaranteeing a ranged opponent means you'll have extreme difficulty keeping tentacles up, and you'll still be extremely reliant on the support to start fights because your gapcloser is so short-ranged it may as well be melee (it only moves you about 100 range or so). Her heal also only recovers missing health, and only if she hits tentacles on enemy champions. It's more of an in-fight sustain mechanic than a laning sustain mechanic.

Realistically, she'll probably only work well bot if she's stupidly overpowered and is dominating in other lanes. Her weakness are just too easily exploited by ranged champions for her to be an ideal fit there.

Long time no see, my dude!

I think the issue with that is ranged AD carries can EASILY take out her tentacles. Its... really difficult for her to operate without them. She also has little synergy with supports.

It could work in some matchups, but... most of the time, she'd feel bad to play in a duo lane.
