Dynamic Lich Bane

A bit inspired by ludens: 65 flat magic damage(instead of scaling with ad) +5 dmg per level {essentially creating something similar to base ad that is equal for everyone} (plus 25% ap) until your ap exceeds a certain amount of ap then It would switch to current equation.

Rewritten for clarity:

if Equation #1's dmg is greater than equation 2's output than equation one is used. Equation #1: ... deals 65 (+5 per level) magic damage (+ 25% AP) bonus magic damage.

Equation #2: ... deals 75% base AD (+ 50% AP) bonus magic damage.

Or take 55% of (65+5 per level)

Mentioned/revisioned here Inception here

Edit: fix/changed 75% of (65+5 per level) to 55% in bold , that was an initial oversight on my part.

Way back when you nerfed lichbane's ap scaling from 75% to 50% it was sort of a quick fix that was concerned with nerfing its ap scaling however it didn't really take into account / overlooked how it might impact its early damage on route to buying that deathcap.

I believe you inadvertently gutted lichbane as a standalone item. not just as stand alone, even for those who liked to build it early for the mana. its best to just get sheen at the moment finish your death cap and then complete lichbane. Even at 200 ap its lackluster.

lich bane was originally nerfed because of its late game power potential, hence why it was the ap ratio that was targeted. sure you raised its ad scaling but not enough imo.

Lets examine where lich bane + deathcap differs from Triforce + IE. imagine if triforce's spellblade scaled with Infinity Edge's amplification. thats essentially what death cap does with lichbane. This is why it needs a dynamic equation.

Lets look at all three versions of lichbane with say 100 (at level 18) base damage and 200 ap:

Very old Season 3: 150 ap >>> (75% ap) +50 ad >>> (.50% base ad ratio)

total= 200 damage

Current: 100 ap >>> (50% ap) +75 ad >>> (.50% base ad ratio) total= 175 damage

Dynamic LichBane: 155 (flat magic damage at level 18) +50 >>> (25% ap) total = 205 damage

this is is right in line with the older version of lich bane at ap levels that didn't pose a problem.

on the old lich bane its initial damage was fine its only when you had when you would reach 600-700+ ap that it go out of hand. 700 * .75 = 525! so you'd do 575 dmg

Current With 700 ap you now do 350+75 = 425

**Dynamic: ** same thing 425 if you go with base ad ratio

actually did some adjustment for both equations to equal one another with a mean/average base ad of all champs at level 18. 55% times 155 would be better to reflect (base ad * 75%) or (155) * 55% = 85.25 so youd do a bit more at 435.25 (keep in mind the above example used a low base ad of 100 at level 18) still a pretty fair distance from the frighteningly overpowered 575 of old. the 435.25 is closer to the average base ad. say you had 115 ad at lvl 18 like morgana does. you'd get 115 (75%) = 86.25

revised this makes more sense: if Equation #1's dmg is greater than equation 2's output than equation one is used.
