Ideas To Make the Support Role Better- Season Oaks/More Options/etc.
So, many know that Supports are currently in a bad position. Mages rule the Support role and the Support role itself isn't very fun. I have a few ideas that MIGHT make the Support role a little more fun to play.
Season Oaks In all four quadrants of the Jungle, there is a Great Oak that represents a Season. In the bottom quadrant, there is the Spring Oak. In the right quadrant, there is the Summer Oak. In the top quadrant, there is the Autumn Oak. Finally, in the right quadrant, there is the Winter Oak. All four act the same, with names only serving to allow teams to more easily chat about which oak they are talking about (Summer, Winter, Spring, Autumn, etc.). Champions that buy a Support starting item are given a Buff known as "Protector". Protector allows this champion to interact with mechanics revolving around the Season Oaks. Nature Spirits Nature Spirits are creatures that dwell in the Jungles and Rivers around their respective oak. Supports can collect Nature Spirits and feed them to their representative Season Oak to collect gold and experience for themselves as well as give benefits in the jungle area depending on how many Nature Spirits they have fed to the Season Oak. These buffs are up for discussion, but should be more about home-field advantages rather than offensive ones. Nature Spirits last for 4-6 minutes each and then disappear if not collected. Seasons of the Rift Whichever Season Oak that currently has the most Nature Spirits will slowly change the map the longer that it stays at the top of the food chain. When all Season Oaks are the same, the Rift takes on it's default look. When the Summer Oak is at the top, not much changes except that more plants begin to bloom. When the Spring Oak is at the top, more animals begin to appear on the Rift in the impassable terrain and, in some parts of the map, it will begin to rain a little bit similar to how it does now in some parts of the map (barely noticeable but there). When the Winter Oak is at the top, it begins to snow and the terrain begins to change to how it was during the Winter version of the map, but not AS snow filled. The river also begins to freeze. The scenery also begins to die. Finally, when the Autumn Oak is at the top, the scenery begins to change to a nice orange and brown and leaves begin to clutter near the edge of terrain. These appearances can be disabled to return the Rift to it's normal self of course.
