Dear Riot, regarding DQ and Lyte

Now that Lyte is gone (Thank God) can we get rid of DQ? I'm getting real sick of 4 man premades and plat borders in silver elo who go 0-7. I mean, I know you're busy finding ways to make the game worse and all, but could you try doing the opposite of that?

And before some white knight comes to say "I never had this problem so it's not real", please stop talking. I never got cancer, so I guess it's fake. I never had an intentional feeder, so I guess they don't exist. Right?

Relating this to a medical illness, just because you have a disease, doesn't mean everyone else has the same disease.

You're getting real unlucky then. I don't have any friends with these problems, nor myself, but I can't speak off my own experience. I think some people are suffering from negativity bias. But how do you know they are 4 man premades? Barring the same club tag, of course. A well coordinated team is not always a premade.

If you are consistently getting premades, then according to the system you are either: In premades yourself (Premade v Premade) or just being the odd one out.

Riot said once that this was a 5% chance thing. Out of my games, I have 20 in between 3+ premades. So either Riot is lying to us, or that rate spiked up 4 times in the half season, which is really bad.

I think it was more of a really shit prediction. Riot probably expected more people to use premades than solo, but clearly they predicted wrong.

Indeed, and it would be nice if they released this data or let sites like lolnexus tell you who is premade again, because we could gather data individually.

Well, most likely people will claim it's false, will do no research, and proclaim they know what is truth. Or some shit like that. And Riot would rather not take the PR blow of people freaking out "X amount of people is premade, fking riot is ruining game for solos" and that going widespread popular. While I don't appreciate hiding stuff, I can understand it- They are taking an extremely cautious stance here. They'd risk getting hate for lack of info than getting potential more hate for full info.

And that's what makes it worse, that they'd straight out lie and hide info because of the build up of backlash. It's like a stream of water you block off, the longer you let it build up, the worse it's going to be when you finally let it go.

Well, they aren't lying about information. Heck, I think they're afraid of people accusing them of lying because it doesn't meet X persons' standards.

They said the majority of the playerbase prefer DQ, if 51% or more pick solo, it's a lie. What's even worse is they'll probably wait until a majority of solo queue players stop before releasing stats.

Well, the poll results on reddit if I recall correctly were 60% in favor of DQ and 40% in favor of SQ. Also, I highly doubt they will actually release the stats in the first place unless they have to- If they start all the shit again, then what was the point of waiting for it to calm down?

I'd prefer an in game client poll where all players will see it. And I mean they would wait until SQ players who hated DQ enough stopped logging on.

Only to come back on the moment they get wind of the announcement. But yea, an in game client poll might work... It's now just down to the technical issue of whether they can properly implement it or not.

I think that perhaps the best compromise is to just not allow 4 man premades. So you would have solo and tri + duo queue and then 5 mans.

the question would you then complain about 3 man teams with two randoms.. or 3 mans + duo and then a team of just a duo and three randoms.. or any other combination where some people have co-ordination and others don't.

Perhaps the best solution is having in game voice chat... despite the horribleness that would unleash, no I have convinced myself out of it.. that is horror beyond imagining.

I think the best solution is to bring solo queue back as an option. But Riot won't because the majority would never use DQ unless we have a group of 3+ and the queue times would be long.

you are tired of plat borders in silver who goes 0-7? DQ was implemented on this season only, last season borders has nothing to do with DQ or the skill level of said player, if anything, DQ shows your actual skill to work in a group and the border shows how lucky you were on last season to be paired with competent people constantly, SPECIALLY IF YOUR BORDER IS PLAT AND YOU'RE IN SILVER THIS SEASON.

The plat borders bit... that was a last season thing... meaning they were probably abusing the 5v5 system. So it has nothing to do with this season.

Let me tell you something kiddo, the DQ system is becoming more and more accepted with time. It's not a bad system. It actually does help with toxicity in champ select to some extent. Boosters are the problem. NOT DQ.

Lyte absolutely had good intentions with the system and treating him like he's in the wrong is just low. You know, now that he's gone...

I never said feeding was a DQ problem, I was using it as an example. Try reading :) And no, the CHAMP SELECT is helping with toxicity in champ select, DQ is the process of getting premades and calling it fair. And Lyte had good intentions but he should have understood when to admit a mistake.
