Chimes for the Bard
I recently started playing as the Bard (support obviously, though I have attempted jungle). I love everything about him right now aside from one thing. Chime farming. For one, I would ask that Chimes only appear within a certain radius of him as it is slightly frustrating when I am in bot lane and see a chime in the enemy jungle by their red/blue on the opposite side of the map... But I do somewhat understand the reasoning in that design, that you have to take a risk, but I assume that is partially what his E is for, to get out if discovered.
What I really think should be implemented is a chime counter reward for kills/assists. Nothing too OP, maybe like 1 count for kills, 1/2 for assists (with the modifier always rounding down, requiring 2 assists before getting the benefit of an additional Chime). I feel this way because the Bard's meeps get modified up until about 145-150 chimes (it can go higher, but it hits a soft cap). I played a game just over 1 hour long today, and spent a fair time away from my team, roaming for chimes to see how many I could get. In all that time I only got to ~ 115, with just a few that I never got on the map, falling short of the 150 chime soft cap modifier. I ended with 7 kills, and 26 assists. If my ratios were used in play I would have been at 135, still short of the soft cap, but slightly increasing his effectiveness.
In this scenario the counter would go up, but he would not get all of the benefits of actually picking up a chime, like the speed boost, XP and mana refill, but instead just empowering his meeps more.
Thoughts? Concerns?
