Bard's E in Dragon Pit

Emerald Unicorn··2 votes·904 views

This has happened to me twice so far, out of about 15 games with the Bard...

I would try to E from the North side of the Southern outcropping on the Dragon Pit down to the tri-bush area and would get stuck in an area that I would naturally assume is not meant to be occupied by players (or creatures). It seems there is a hollow area between the stone and the trees on the bottom right of the pit. I am not sure if you can walk out of this area eventually, but the auto-pathing just made me jitter around in that one spot for a second or two, where I was quickly killed by the enemies I was attempting to flee from.

I will investigate this bug for myself.

  • Do you remember what the targeter for Bard's portal looked like (i.e. did it seem like it was going to portal all the way through?)
  • Was the **actual exit for the portal **in this "hollow space", or were you dumped out of it before even reaching the "end" of the tunnel?
  • Could you locate on the attached image where, exactly, your tunnel started, ended, and where you got stuck in the terrain? Use ABCDE or use the dashed lines as a sort of coordinate system to describe a point.
  • Lastly, were you stunned/snared in any way while midway through the tunnel?

Thanks for the response.

  • I honestly had no indication of where it would end (Quick Cast on).
  • The enemies were coming from mid lane (saw them coming via a ward) so I would have gotten away if I hadn't gotten stuck, assuming the tunnel went all the way... I can't remember now if when I cast the tunnel it showed as going all the way through or not. Sorry about that. I can try to replicate it in a custom game and get back to you.
  • Location B on the map is basically where I ended up, My starting point was just above A, on the very tip of the rock. I was attempting to end up just below C, roughly.
  • No. To clarify my earlier sentence, I knew they were coming and was attempting to preemptively escape through the terrain. I just ended up in location B, jittering around when I attempted to click move. A second or two later they were there and they killed me pretty much instantly.

EDIT: I just attempted to recreate the event and I realized that the top waterfall by the Dragon is not terrain as I had always assumed, so when I created the portal it simply took me through the rock and I ended up on that waterfall. So the portal seems to be working as "intended". With that, I can only assume that the inability to move was a bug, or maybe just the auto-pathing struggling to get me where I wanted to go. In my custom game where I recreated the scenario I did jitter around for a moment but did walk out the entrance to the Dragon Pit within 2 or 3 seconds. Though, strategically, that ends up being useless as I end up where I started my Magical Journey.

I had not realized that the walkable terrain in the pit was not perfectly spherical, but more like a gear with cogs. My portal simply brought me to one of the "cogs" that jutted out.
