I think that claiming somebody else does not deserve the rank they have is unsportsmanlike, so I personally would define it as "toxic". Opinions will differ. That's just mine.
I don't think it is toxic but annoying and possible harassment if they push it. I was called it once myself but a random player out of nowhere the other day and I stopped my game play for a second and asked how and why. I never got a answer but it bugs me to death to be accused of that. That along with reporting. There isn't a game someone is threatened with being reported or begging the other team to report for a truly false report. Example I was playing ekko the other day and was 4--0 mid and bttm fed, ashe top lane fed and if forgot smite so game was lost. I asked to everyone to stop fighting and focus. Well after game I was told I was being reported for unsportsmanlike conduct. I asked why. They begged the other team and in chat came back as done. If true or not I don't know but it isn't right or fair. I look at it as knowing I didn't break game rules I shouldn't get in trouble. I mute them usually start of games now.
The only reason to say it is to try to get people to react and/or hurt. Its not hard to keep a mouth shut
In my opinion, its one of the lower degrees of toxicity because being told you're boosted is implying you don't deserve your elo and someone else helped you get there. Should it be a bannable offense? I don't think so. To my knowledge, there are still people out there telling others to "kys" , wishing negative misfortunes on others, and saying much more offensive things beyond questioning a player's ranking in a video game.
nope
Saying it as a joke, who cares. Saying it to insult people is negative behavior. I would rather keep things that create negative environments to a minimum.
Depends on context.
If you call your team "Boosted shitbags, why am I matched with such horrible players constantly!" that is plenty toxic. Boosted can easily be used as just another vector to release ALL THE BILE but that player is probably already toxic and is just being handed another sort of ammunition.
Now describing a play as a "Boosted" when it goes wrong because it was fumbled is about on par with saying "Welp, am I Bronze?", but such situations are better to be supplied by the person that did the play or the friends (which hopefully are actual friends.) to hard section it as a jokey thing.
