At this point AD casters are getting dangerously close to dealing borderline true damage without cost.

(duskblade, doesn't have an icon)

Then there's the Precision and Battering Blows masteries.

In addition to all this armor pen and true damage in the meta

Or you could like, Buy Armor to counter Flat Penetration. Kite with a DPS champ (ADC) to avoid Black Cleaver. Or enlist an Assassin to counter the Carry using a Last Whisper upgrade.

Let's be frank dude, it doesn't matter if there are a lot of Armor Pen items if they both don't synergize with each other and aren't typically built together on the same champions.

Just got done watching Imaqtpie build Maw, Youmuu's and another dirk towards Duskblade on Graves. He had like 60 armor pen which he used to run into a 1v4 and get a quadra kill.

40 Armor Pen unless he has nothing but Flat Pen runes.

All the enemy team would need to do is buy and stack Armor items and his damage will be rendered null.

Runes and masteries factor into the equation, as well. You can get 11.52 from 9 ArPen marks, and and 3+0.3 per level from thep precision Masteries. He MIGHT have been running armor pen quints too.

Less we forgot, AP champs have item combos that can sky rocket their AP item 3040 , item 3027 x2, item 3089 , item 3135 , item 3100

Don't forget the Flat MR pen items as well: item 3020 item 3151

And the Flat MR reduction item: item 3001

Seraph's and RoA ramp up slowly, Rabadon's is has a harsh build path, I'll admit Void staff is super good, and Lich bane has niche synergy. My problem is that assassins and fighters can build fucktons of easily built armor pen on top of itself. Mages on the other hand have to sacrifice something like mana, CDR, resistances or early game power to get more damage.

You can get like 30 or so flat A-pen with runes and the right build, not counting things like LW, Black Cleaver or BOTRK.

This season sees armor being the strongest it's been, as a stat, since season 2.

The problem is that most armor items are garbage and offer poor stats for cost, and this seems to be by design. So whilst it's harder than ever (or at least years) to chunk through armor and negate it.. Armor is also terrible to buy due to the items you get it from.
