Then... THINK. Listen. Learn.
Duration at rank 1: 5-8 sec. Cd 17 sec. I don't know if cd starts when you cast shroud or if it starts when you end. But let's assume it starts when you end... to make akali as weak as possible in this argument. This means roughly 1/3 of the time you are laning vs akali... you cannot walk anywhere near her. You cannot soak xp, you cannot cs. You cannot even hide under your tower. ONE THIRD OF THE TIME.
Wow... such a simple counter to akali lol.
Tf used to be able to hold gold card after locking it in for something like 4 sec. He'd use it as a tool to zone champs for a whole 4 sec or something like that. And his combo if he actually landed it with this did less damage than akali can put out, was a lower duration zoning tool, AND didn't heal him. But it was deemed toxic to be able to zone that hard, so the duration a card lasts after the color choice is locked in was nerfed. By a good margin.
Or... Imagine darius had his e up every 3 sec. Or renekton had w and e up every 3 sec (1/3 of the time). That would seem just a bit fucking toxic and bs. But yeah... you can just play around that and not be in lane when that happens and it would make it ok right? Seems like a pretty improbable argument when you put it like that. Or imagining kayle with her ult on a 9-12 sec cd. Yeah, have fun 1v1 that all game. But oh... that's right akali is an assassin so we should feel bad for her and say it's ok.
So do it. I dare you. You get Riot to give those 3 champs that kind of cd on the abilities I talked about, you lane vs them all, you teamfight vs them all, and then... THEN if you can honestly tell me they are fair to play against in that scenario, you can say akali shroud isn't bs. If you can't, then your argument is invalid. Because essentially these cases would be giving those champs the same zoning power available for the same percentage of the time in a fight... 1/3rd. And remember... this is giving akali the benefit of the doubt and assuming the longest cd interval possible for her between her shrouds.
